The Magic are fresh from firing the widely criticized, Jacque Vaughn as well as his staff. Orlando is currently on a 10 game losing streak and is 13th in the East just above Philly and New York. They are looking to bring in a new coach sometime around All Star Weekend and so likely Orlando will not pose a threat to our chase of the highest lottery pick. Vucevic has been playing very well as of late sliding into the C spot, as has rookie Elfrid Payton, co-rookie of the month. While these two teams are at the bottom in their respective conferences, this game will showcase a few things for Lakers fans to check out beyond just a win or loss.
It'll be a great showdown/test tonight for our own rookie Jordan Clarkson who will be facing another rookie PG, Elfrid Payton. It will be great to see how Jordan handles bigger PGs, which I think considering his size and how fast Clarkson is, he should be able to do a solid defensive job on Payton while also being able to get the team's offense going including knocking down some open jumpers and hopefully a few more of those raw floaters I've come to enjoy watching. Clarkson should have his hands full tonight, so it'll be interesting to see how he approaches this game and how he reacts in moments where he can't seem to control the team's rhythm nor knock down some shots, as I'm sure those moments will indeed come.
We also get to see Tarik Black start once again, all I'll say here is even if Jordan Hill was healthy I'd want all minutes to go Black then Davis, mostly to Black who's on contract for next year too, we can't waste our minutes of development too much on Davis who has just opted out of his 1m deal and changed agents, from Rob Pelinka to Leon Rose, but that's already being discussed in another thread.
Another player to look out for on our squad will be Kelly, who I think will once again get the SF start. While this DOES help the tank, I'd like to see our guys as more than just tank contributors, afterall, we do give a **** to see them develop right? Kelly is a strong shooter coming off a knee injury I believe, so I'd like to see him get more minutes to regain his form and continue his development. It'd be quite the gift to see Kelly grow into the wing player we desperately need. It'd be sweet to have a 6-11 sharpshooter wing player

Lastly, Tobias Harris, a wing player who has been currently playing PF for Orlando. He may be out of position there as he's listed as a SF I think. He'll be a restricted free agent this year but I don't think Orlando is looking to bring him back all that much. He'd be a nice pick up indeed. I haven't seen too much on him but some members on here have mentioned his name and so I'm putting him in here for us all to check out.
