If we hold onto the top 5 protect pick, It will be a real miracle. A few wins in the last bit of the season will push the Lakers out of the top 5. Even if we hold onto the pick, someone moves up in the lottery. the pick falls out of the top 5, we loose it.

Next 2 years it is top 3 protected. So would it be that wrong to get it over with this year and not to have to go thru this again next years.

Last year it was top 10 protected.

Oh ya, we still owe a pick to the Magic for the D12 trade. Lakers need to find more assets. We owe more than we really have. Time we pay off all these teams. What will our roster look like. We need to hold onto this pick, might be the last one we have for a few years. Sad. Mitch. Stop trading future for right now. Did not work and we are paying for it now and into the future.

well thing is. we had big time players in howard pau and nash and the problem was, they ate our cap space and walked away leaving us pretty much empty handed. not to mention the failed cp3 trade and a couple of coach changes. it is only until recently that we are beginning to recover from those failures.

I don't remember all the details but if we keep the top 5 pick we owe the magic a 2nd and after a while it says we owe them nothing/extinguished

no way the lakers give up a top 5 protected for a 28 year old who just figured out the NBA. I want D'angelo Russell PERIOD!

best I would do is remove the protection next year if we keep the pick this year.

If the Lakers want Dragic this season they might as well give up the protection because Dragic will play the Lakers out of the top 5 pick.

Lakers should not make any moves that better the team this season that might potentially cost them a franchise talent.
