You guys think the Lakers will sign them next season? Both have shown great promise, the Lakers could use a backup pg if clarkson decides to be a SG. Plus smith can easily replace boozer and sacre.

I'm all for developing young talent, but let's remember next year we could have: Randle, Clarkson, Tarik, Kelly, Sacre, (hopefully) top 5, late 1st, early 2nd, late 2nd.
That's 9 players young right there.
With Kobe and Nick Young that has us at 11 guys, only 2 of them actual veterans, out of a 15 man roster.
We could very well cut ties with Sacre (non-guaranteed). And though I like Tarik, depending on who we draft, I can see us letting him go as well (non-guaranteed). Odds are at least the late 2nd will either be some raw guy we'll never hear of again or simply D-Leaguer for the next two years. I'm hoping the early 2nd is a keeper.
So if we keep the pick we'll be developing at least 5 young players: Randle, Clarkson, Kelly, top 5, and early 1st who all (but Clarkson) have guaranteed money, plus the early 2nd. Not sure how many other young players would be optimal, but IMO it's best to surround young talent with enough veterans to show them the ropes.
Really not sure how much room we'll have to develop like Jabari and Smith.

So was he added with an injured player exemption, or what? Can't find a story on it.

Ya, the Lakers filed for a hardship exception right after Ronnie Price missed his fourth game.

Another possible call-up, not sure if it will be after Jabari or to another team.

SG
http://www.nba.com/draft/2014/prospects/jabari_brown/http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/lakersnow/la-sp-ln-jabari-brown-d-league-all-star-20150204-story.html Wednesday, Lakers' affiliate player Jabari Brown was named a NBA Development League all-star.
Brown, a shooting guard out of Missouri, joined the D-Fenders (9-20) after getting cut by the Lakers late in the preseason.
The D-League All-Star game is set for Feb. 15 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., home of the Nets.
Brown is the league's third-leading scorer at 22.9 points a game. Last month, he scored 50 points in the D-Fenders' 124-99 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce -- leading to a D-League "Performer of the Week" honor.

Clarkson is actually taller than him ironically. But yeah seems like this is more about continuing Clarkson's development than really signing Brown.

Manny Harris is in Europe and if you want someone of his mold, just pick up Jamaal Franklin who also plays for the D-Fenders. Curious to see Jabari's improvements. He's obviously made some strides in his game and has chemistry with Clarkson from their time at Mizzou.
