would the lakers be interested in signing him?
id take this guy in a heartbeat. I think he's a very underrated SG, better than wade at this point. great scorer....he could take nick youngs spot. he's 29...a 3 year contract wouldn't hurt, and he could slide into kobe's spot after next year...he wouldn't get anything close to a max contract from any team, but some of his games are max contract caliber games.
He could be what iggy was to the warriors and what ginobili was to the spurs.
throw him a 3 year/ 30mil contract

why not sign some defensive players? always these ineffective scorers who saw defense only when watching tape

Another 30-year-old veteran who is entering into his twilight stage. Please don't, we need young talent, not old glories.

No thank you. Highly selfish player is not what we need trying to rebuild a team

How in the world is Monta Ellis underrated? In comparison to who?

Lol good point. Depending on his price I'd take him as a 2nd scorer if we end up drafting Okafor and strike out on major free agents.

For 3/30 sure because he's still far more talented than a rook that never played, a guy who Mitch admitted got stats on a bad team, and a cat who broke his own leg 15mins in and had two surgeries
Don't be simple or out right dumb and think punt the cap again. Or try to sell that he that this team is viable for someone of substance like kd or Russ with Clarkson Randle #2 to waste their prime on when it comes attached to Scott. We need actual talent. Ellis is a not so terrible muddled ground to rondo and wade; hell he can start with Jordan who is SG size and can't defend the pg himself. Plus he's only 29 and hasn't missed but 10 games the last 3 years. That's a sound investment since it splits the cap and you can still invest half in another player that's big, proven, and can mentor Okafor and Randle ... Not Ed but Tyson, Roy, or even Monroe. Which still leaves us the room exception to pay a wing like Brewer or Gerald Green.
We need to get better; you have to be stupid to think we don't need guys that are B level
No **** way that they start Clarkson, Randle, Okafor, and punt the cap on bs like Nash, Lin, Hill, and Booz ala last year. Hell there's no way they waste the room exception again like on Kelly and Henry. If they do, I'm going to pop a bottle when Scott, Mitch, and Jim see the team miss the playoffs and get publicly fired like Jeanie has said

Clarkson, if he progresses well will basically be Monta Ellis on a cheaper contract.

In what world? Clarkson player less than half a year to get his numbers, didn't defend well, and he didn't have any ball handler to split the ball with. Monta has been a double digit scorer, ppt leader, foul drawer, and key contributor to playoff teams. Mitch said it himself just weeks ago there's a chance Clarkson was just a guy whose numbers won't translate to winning. Clarkson if anything at all should be starting between Kobe and a established G at the 2 or be coming off the bench as a combo guard. He's not a starting caliber player on either end

It's a fun fact ... He's a diminished return. He's not a proven player, he's not a full blown asset to use in a trade, and he's not a NBA starter or guy you slot for 30 minutes. He's not **** Blake. He's a rookie that went to 7 in a weak draft because he was medically flagged, got criticized all throughout camp and the preseason for being out of shape and not having good stamina, then broke his own leg and had two surgeries.
People are really fun simple when they act like he showed this or that. He wasn't a beast. He wasn't even a freaking blip before he went down. He has potential. He had amazing potential pre Kentucky where he played point forward in high school, showed more in Kentucky as a post up big, but that's all it is. As of right now he's diminished goods, not a starter and not a guy who makes or breaks any trade to he actually puts up tangible results of a damn NBA court night in and out.
And people who say he can attract kd or Russ because he, jordan, and Jah will be this strong core are as simple minded as when they said Scott would be a good coach or Lin was a good trade or Hills per 36 makes him a solid starter ... Foh and come into reality and the facts of the situation which is we need talent and Clarkson and Randle haven't earned **** and shouldn't be slotted as starters

to be fair, you can't compare a rookie clarkson like that to a seasoned veteran in monta ellis.
Theres actually A LOT in common between the two players.
1. both were 2nd round picks, drafted in the 40's.
2. height- clarkson 6'4, ellis 6'3
3. position- pg/sg
4. rookie year (per 36 minutes) clarkson averaged- 17.1 points, 4.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.2 blocks per game
rookie year (per 36 minutes) ellis averaged- 13.6 points, 3.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 0.4 blocks per game
