The Sales Pitch...Who's In Room, What Is Said ?

Ok....so now we enter the most important stage of this whole free agent circus. So the questions are simple...
What is our sales pitch ?
Who's In the Room ?
Do we stay free of gimmicks ?
Supposedly Kobe was late to the meeting with Howard 3 years ago, didn't make it to the first meeting with Melo, but made the second. If we're going to strike and strike hard Kobe has got to show these FA's he's serious about them coming here, needs to present with the contingent where ever they go.
Word is he's already called Deandre Jordan, that's an improvement. They're meeting in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.
I say our pitch should be about where we're heading, not what our past was. These guys don't care or either they already know it. So our pitch need to be about the future and fully explaining the plan for the next two summers when more A level talent is on the market.
These guys want to know how long it's going to take, will we spend money on other FA's and what will be their role on the team. If we nail some of that I say we break through and take somebody's player this summer and next as well.
So what do you guys have for ideas ?

I think the Roster, Cap space and Starter availability speaks for itself.
How long it's going to take? 2-4 years.
Will we spend money? Sure will. Cap rise and Kobe's contract coming off the books.
Role on the team? Any position outside of PG and PF has open avilability for starting. Russel was drafted too high not to get him exposed to the daily NBA grind and Randle is our best young front court prospect. They both have to start in my mind.
Deandre would get MAX money, auto starter status as long as he wants to stay here despite his shortcomings because with our current rookies, old Kobe and rest of the roster - he's exactly what the team needs at C.
Mitch and Jeanie are both amazing negotiators and speakers, it's like good cop/bad cop. I'm not worried.

No clue.

in the room-
only mitch, jeanie, and byron scott. jim needs to stay out this year imo
sales pitch-
2 year rebuild plan. follow the winning tradition of the lakers. form a 'BROTHERHOOD' team. i think thats the most important part. it was so much fun watching kobe/fisher/ariza/gasol/bynum/odom/sasha/farmar/artest get it done. they all genuinely seemed to like each other on and off the court. talk about life after kobe.
gimmicks-
none. no banners, no begging, none of that crap. the most they should talk about is opportunity of endorsements and a little bit of hollywood and weather.

Kobe should have no part in the sales pitch outside of phone calls and conversations taking place outside of the actual meeting.
Mitch, Jim and Jeanie should be there. I think it's important and an asset of Jeanie is there.

If we wanna focus on the future, Kobe shouldn't be in the room. Let Jimmy and Mitch sell their 3-year plan.

I heard Jamie Foxx had dinner with Doc Rivers and DeAndre Jordan to ask him to stay with the Clippers. Never liked him anyways.

We could probably arrange that. Morgan, Jack, Jimmy, Mitch, Byron and Hugh at the Playboy Mansion. Jeanie might even dust off the old bunnie costume.

I think Kobe should be involved. I think Kobe saying, "I want to pass the keys to this organization to someone like you." Would mean a lot.

Free agency starts at 12EST. 9PM Pacific. Should be a good dinner tonight.
Wouldn't it be great if Jack and Denzel came w/?!?! There is a big difference between a video and face to face.

I think Kobe could sell Tyson Chandler on coming here to be his Tyson Chandler.

PRIME DPOY Tyson Chandler
Deal went thru, Thunder killed deal

If Lakers want to go with theatrics, bring all the championship trophies and tell LA that the LA LAkers have the highest winning % of all time and you already live here. Why not stay in LA, LA?
Maybe get a key made w/ a Lakers logo on it and 16 trophies in it. MAX offer.

Everytime I think of Kobe in a meeting with these free agents I think of that "Put that coffee down!" speech.
Kobe: "I'm here from downtown.. from Mitch and Murray... I'm here on a mission of mercy! You call yourself LaMarcus?"
Aldridge: "Yeah"
Kobe: "You call yourself a salesman you son of a b**ch!?!?"

MITCH: DEANDRE, PEOPLE ARE TALKIN ABOUT YOU GOIN TO THIS TEAM OR THAT TEAM. LIKEWISE, LEMARCUS, PEOPLE ARE TALKIN ABOUT YOU GOIN TO THIS TEAM OR THAT TEAM. DEANDRE AND LEMARCUS, WE ARE PREPARED TO OFFER THE BOTH OF YOU THE MAX RIGHT NOW!! (mitch turns and comments to Jeanie...JEANIE, BRING IN THE CONTRACTS, THESE BOYS ARE READY TO SIGN NOW!)
-THEY SIGN
-end of meeting

I just noticed we are only chasing players with similar linear iterations of a name.
DEandre , DEmarcus , leMARCUS
