What I am getting to is that the floor is spread out better than it was last year. Both bigs have their mid range areas,. The perimeter players have the ability to hit the corner 3 especially Nick, Russell, and Lou. This means Kobe's make shift triple threat are is available and off that you can hit a cutter like Clarkson for easy ones. We also now have the ability to draw fouls across the board with our top 5 perimter guys.

So with all that said, I think the O flows better than it did last year starting Ed, Hill, Wes, and Price at times. What do you guys think about the O now?

Anything is better than last year for one.

I envision a lot of Pick and Pops with Russell/Clarkson with the bigs or Kobe at the high/low post doing his thing and finding cutters or kicking it out to shooters. Also Randle doing damage with his face ups.

Offense can be as fluid as, dare I say, the Dubs. Most important thing though is they'll be conscious to share the ball and not go full blown iso as if they were playing HORSE.

Pick and pop and drive and kick should be a lot better with the spacing we are supposed to have.

And our perimeter guys should just tell hibbert and randle to dive HARD inside on rolls to get easy points.

Less iso ball, more ball movement, more efficient basketball, more games won

Hibbert can't dive hard. It's just not there physically for him. The Pacers eventually found his hot spot which was floating above the free throw line on the pop.

Is he really that soft? Didnt watch the pacers a whole lot. Always thought he got some nice hook around the rim too and can use both hands

yeah, unfortunately Hibbert is pretty soft for a 7 foot NBA body big man.

I mean, Pau was soft, but he produced at an elite level...he's already one of the GOAT PF's ever, its just that if Pau wasn't soft, he would be consistently ranked higher than he already is.
Hibbert on the other hand, is a big body, with a surprisingly soft touch, and an above average defender, but unfortunately he's slow, is weaker than he really looks, and supposedly mentally fragile.

but he seems like a really good dude. I'm not mad at all that we picked him up...he plays pretty good defense.
remember kwame brown as a 1st pick? Hibbert is what Kwame Brown's FLOOR SHOULD HAVE been. but kwame turned out much, much worse.

No matter how mentally fragile or slow or weak Hibbert is, he's big enough to alter and block shots, he's a poor rebounder for his size, but he's still a starting center without a doubt. But the biggest thing about him as that he's an expiring contract. His 15 million and Kobe's 25 million come off the books next year. Lakers will probably resign Hibbert to a cheaper deal, which they should.

I think the lakers were trying to woo one of the bigger free agent Centers in DJ and Chandler...they always knew Hibbert would be there as a backup plan, and to be honest, not too long ago Hibbert was the key to taking miami to 7 games and almost eliminating them. He had 2 monster games...completely took advantage and destroyed Miamis lack of a big man.

Yeah i remember the pau "layup drill sgt" gasol we have in his late tenure as a laker. He is still one of the best C (dont like calling a 7ft post up player a PF) on offense but suppppeer slow on defense.

Hibbert is like the opposite of pau lol and maybe his rebounding numbers is low because he play like 20ish minutes per game.
I just hope he could capitalize his major height advantage given kobe was known to up big mans numbers like what gasol used to be.

Russell-kobe-young/ellington/willians-bass-hibbert

Put clarkson and willians/young on the second team with a pass first point guard...

More spacing means more Kobe post ups, and easier shots for guys hanging out on the wing. Offensively Lakers won't have a problem. Question is when Hibbert is out, who is going to anchor the defense.
