Should Kobe play PF?

Post#1 » by UNC_MJ_Fan23 » Mon Oct 5, 2015 10:05 pm

Against teams with hella small lineups could Kobe play PF?

Russell/Clarkson/Young/Lou/Kobe

Out on the floor at the same time? Doable?

Not a shot.

There is definitely a reason why he's playing the 3, and only played the first quarter in the preseason game. They don't want him running around chasing 2's or banging down low all game.

Dont forget that Magic Johnson played center for the Lakers when Kareem went down. If we are playing the GS warriors and they have Iggy playing PF well then we should match up.

Correction : Magic Johnson played "Center" during the doughy ass, unatheltic 80's when

was considered one of the toughest guys in the league.

The idea is stupid ...

Magic can play C because he is 6'9. Although Kobe is good in the post you don't want him to be banging against legit bigs in the league.

Seriously, even an amateur coach would take out the Kobe mismatched player and sub in someone who'll punish Bryant inside. Dude just have to stand near the ring, catch the ball facing up, and shoot. Yeah he can take some back downs for a bit, but add them all up and he's fcked.

Andre Igoudala is an athletic freak who is 30 years old. Kobe is a hobbling 37 year old who's coming off of multiple season-ending knee surgeries. That's a big difference. The Lakers would get slaughtered on the boards.

Plus, iggy playing the 4 at times was incidental to their success - not the reason for it.

Nawwww Kobe is a beast! He can take on Iggy younger and bigger. Aside from offensive effeciency last year... kobe did almost everything else at a high level. Including defense, steals, rebounding, and he had some massive assist games.

But back to the point, I guarantee you if we run into some small lineups that we run with Kobe at the 4, Lou, nic young, russell, and clarkson.... all on the floor at the same time.

According to your logic, Tim Duncan doesn't deserve any respect.

Best part of post is that title asks about Kobe playing pf but suggested lineup has him playing center.

STOP pushing it kid.

And your line up will be massacred by any team in the NBA right now.
