All you negative nancies need to wake-up.

There is so much negativity in this forum regarding the Lakers and how bad they've played... there are even people claiming that were going to be almost as bad as the 76'ers this season... that is absolute RUBBISH. We won 21 games last season with a garbage roster, and multiple injuries.

Lets go through the changes made?

a LEGIT starter in clarkson compared to jeremy lin (LOL) and ronnie price (LOL)
danjelo russel (not an upgrade compared to last season atm... but thatll change soon)
Kobe (huge upgrade over wesley johnson)
Randle (way better than no defence no effort boozer)
Hibbert (WAAAAAAAY better than ed davis and j hill combined lol. have you guys seen j hill play against the raptors? dude missed 2 or 3 fg's 3 ft close to the basket)
We have an upgraded bench with the former 6th man of the year... Brandon bass (who probably should be traded), an improved swaggy P and Tarik Black...

Just because we lost to the kings doesnt mean shi*. neither does us losing to the wolves, for we were up by 16 but just got careless. THE TALENT IS THERE FOR 32-41 WINS... its just mental and chemistry now

I believe we'll make the playoffs or come close - It's a tough west after all. Most of us here are complaining about Scott and his horrible decision making and roster rotations - I mean if us fans can figure it out - why the hell can't he and his staff? WTF pick it up scott.

For me the topic people need to get a grip on is D'angelo Russell. Fans HAD to know that when the Lakers drafted him, it was going to be a long term project and not yield immediate gratification compared to a player with elite size or elite athleticism that is immediately transferrable to the NBA. What Russell brings takes time to adjust to the NBA. Now that reality is setting in, fans are acting totally unprepared for the long term nature of this rebuild and throwing Russell under the bus already.

Don't even want to get into people during game threads apparently watching a different game than I am cause to me Russell shows a ton of promise every time he handles the ball, but others just aren't seeing it for whatever reason.

I agree that Russell is gonna be fine he's got too much talent to fail here. We got a lot of shooters on this team but when he shoots he's the only one where I always feel like it's going in because his shot looks so good. It will take a little time though. Which I don't mind, I love our pick.

I do agree with everyone about Scott though. I wasn't in that first game thread and I didn't read any of it. From what I saw I felt like he lost us that game. Minnesota was on a run and I felt like he waited wwwaaaayyy too long to put the starters back in. Our team is too young and they haven't played together long enough to figure it out on their own. Minnesota had all their starters on the floor for a good 2-3 mins (basketball mins not regular mins) before we pulled our subs. By then we were basically tied and they had all the momentum. That made no sense to me.

Things I've learned in the 10 years I've lurked on this forum, and the 3 I've been registered:

1) Unless the Lakers win a championship every year, everyone involved in the team should be fired
2) Except Kobe, but sometimes even him
3) Any draft picks that don't put up 30/10/10 immediately from their Rookie year are busts and management should be fired
4) Management is always incompetent
5) We as fans definitely know more about running a Basketball team and evaluating talent than people who do it for a living every day
6) Vlad was a good, reasonable use of our mid level exception. Luke too, came off a contract year. Don't forget Blake.
7) Even though the Lakers were bad enough to get two consecutive lottery picks, expect them to make noise in the playoffs
8) Fire Rudy/Frank/Brown/Bernie/D'antoni/Scott and hire Phil Jackson's corpse again, and again, and again
9) Losing a playoff series/regular season game/preseason game/exhibition game/mcdonalds all american game means fire everyone
10) Lakers are such a rich and noble franchise, they can just make free agents sign without proving they have a real team

And it keeps going. Message boards are amazing looks into the real, anonymous, unfiltered nature of the human condition and exposes the rancid, negative worst in people. This ain't that real, this is a fan message board for a Basketball team. Some of yall need to chill the F out and watch more basketball than you post about.

In conclusion, we need to fire everyone and throw Kobe on a spaceship into the sun and then look out league - 30 year dynasty when Durant, Westbrook, Lebron and Davis sign with us next year.

so much win in this post

OP mentioned "Chemistry" it takes time... it takes time for veteran heavy teams with a light roster turnover to gel and even more so when you over half your roster is new to the team...

8 new guys and of the remaining 7 that were Lakers last year, 1 didn't play at all last year, another missed half a season and 2 others were in and out of d league all season...

you basically have 15 guys that have never played a competitive NBA together including 5 rookies 3 guys in their second season and 2 in their 3rd that's a combined 7 years NBA experience between 10 players... this team is young and inexperienced and it's going to take time for them to get their feel for the game and for the coaching staff to see who they are and what they ultimately will be able to offer as players

It's okay if we losing but exciting, for example Randle, Rachel, Jessie and Nance play together in 4th Q when it's not matter anymore like the last match. but ****, Scott choose to play unimportant veterans like Bass, Kelly (which is suck as frontcourt duo), young, lou etc.

Great thread! I've been saying it all along. This is going to be a long season but it won't be as bad as last year, and yes there are going to be times when we look like ****, but there are also going to be times when we look GREAT!
Let's just be loyal fans and enjoy the ride.

Two words: Byron Scott. Fire Scott and go with Mark Jackson. This team is going to be very young soon I think mark Jackson can turn DLO into a star like he did curry.

Laker fans are so f'n ridiculous. They think they know so much and have no humility about it, it's embarrassing.

Yes, that's a laker logo next to my name, and always will be, but don't lump me in with these maniacs.

It's so easy to understand why there are so many laker haters, cause of stupid fans.

I gotta be honest. I'm not worried about this team at all right now. Everything's going to be fine.

You just proved the OP's point in this post.....stop dude it's outrageous and down right idiotic. Mentioning Mark Jackson ?....do you even realize that he and Thibs were essentially FIRED for the same reasons ?
Do you understand that ? It'll be awhile before or if Jackson ever coaches again, Thibs will get a chance because he has a better body of work than Jackson. Scott has done just as well with guards as Jackson, and Byron has done well with 3 compared to Jackson's 1.

Stay in reality man.

Byron Scott is going to going to be a terrible coach in a million ways and make me furious, but the one thing he does really well is set young guys up for a bright future.

I would rather see Black and Kelly than Bass and Kelly, though... I feel like Byron is trying to make it up to Brandon for being an ass to him when he came into the league.

our big water mark this year will be a late stretch of great games with chemistry that is lead by the young guys.

Phil didn't believe in playing rookies.
