Does Kobe Make The All Star Team This Year?

If his current level of play continues into the all star break do you guys think kobe would still retain enough fan support to get voted in as a starter?

He made it in the last two seasons pretty undeservedly (was still in the top 5 of all votes), but his current level of play is incredibly bad right now. I'm wondering if this apparent steep regression as well as the emergence of other players in the league will be enough of a factor for him to finally lose his spot.

He won't deserves it, but he will.

in one of the off-season wild prediction threads I posted that Kobe wouldn't be voted in, but I didnt anticipate Harden and the rockets haven't such a dismal start. Without Harden tearing it up, he isn't likely to keep the momentum he had last yr and pass Kobe up. He was pretty close last yr, but he isn't helping his case this yr.

I never vote but how do they do it? Break it up into Guards/Forwards/Centres

Is Kobe still considered a guard or forward now? If guard would you expect, or reasonable believe, that Curry and Westbrook will get voted in as starters.

He won't get votes for reserves. His only (but sizable) chance is fan votes as starter.

The fans vote in the starters iirc. If he doesn't start he won't make the all star team

I wouldn't want him to accept the spot if he did get in ... there's enough disrespect being poked at him right now.

he'll get voted in, one way or another....the lakers hate is big outside of california, not around the world.

He'll be in. By fans or by coaches or the league offices. It's his last season it would be a travesty if he wasn't there to say good bye after a career like his.

not like Klay and Harden are lighting it up either, Kobe doesn't deserve it either but he'll get the fans vote for sure especially with Thompon and Harden current struggles.

Everyone will pass him the ball like how MJ was treated in his last AS game. I'm curious to see how many shots he'll put up.

We all know he does not deserve it this year but....why not?! It's not the like the Allstar game matters anymore. Everyone is friends and no one takes it seriously anymore like back in the day. I wish the game meant more to allstars but it doesn't. That being said I say let Kobe in because this seems to be his last year. Let him play with the big boys one last time. We can all sit here and bash him but come on who wouldn't love to see him get a well deserved ovation and maybe a littler ceremony. Harden and Klay will make it regardless.

He doesn't deserve it....but fan voting is crazy and he has a massive amount of fans from all over the world and that's why he'll creep in. The hate will be crazy if he makes it, it'll remind me of Kareem making the All Star game in 89 even though his numbers didn't indicate he should be one.

Seems like most agree he will make it, but looking at the numbers the last couple years I'm not so sure.

2015
1. Stephen Curry 1,513,324
2. Kobe Bryant 1,152,402
3. James Harden 1,069,368
4. Chris Paul 551,167
5. Damian Lillard 365,417

2014
1. Stephen Curry 1,047,281
2. Kobe Bryant 988,884
3. Chris Paul 804,309
4. Jeremy Lin 628,818
5. James Harden 470,381

Curry's obviously a lock, but I think there's a very real possibility that someone like Russell who's been dominate to start the season or Harden if he picks up his game they might make it over Kobe. It'd take a truly awful season for kobe to even begin to question losing his spot, but so far seems like that might be the case.

He'll definitely get voted as a starter if this is really going to be his last year.

How is Westbrook not in the top 5 in voting........?

Because it's based on who the fans want to see, not on who's playing the best ball or deserves to be in or not...

It's a fans vote first, Kobe has a huge fan base looking at the 2015 voting clearly shows how we'll you're playing has very to do with it

as for Westbrook, you're right he should be getting more recognition, not sure why he's shunned by the fans... Lillard, like Lin the year before were "prisoner of the moment votes"
