Retiring or not Kobe's shot selection a bit ridiculous right?
I know its his last season but his current shot selection is a bit absurd. 14 3-point attempts? I guess Kobe has free reign to do what he wants but shouldn't he try to get higher percentage shots? This is crazy and I'm a big Kobe fan.

17 last night. This is a prime example of what happens when you strip the veneer off a narcissist.

its his farewell tour, so he's just trying to get the crowds riled up...if you go to games you'll realize there are more kobe fans than fans of teams...hes just trying to put on a show before he leaves...too bad he can't.

as a real fan, i'm fine with it. would you rather watch him shoot and miss, or some random player (who won't be a laker for long), shoot and make?

I think you're giving Kobe too much credit by framing this as a question.

I'd rather see Russell/Randle/Clarkson take those shots.

Its the Ben Simmons plan.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

If you believe in the law of probabilities like I do, its a dead cert the Sixers will draft him. They have their own odds along with choice of swapping picks with the Kings who barring a miracle are going to be mid-lottery anyways.

Well... Kobe's retirement home doesn't build by itself.

In his prime he wouldn't shoot with this reckless abandonment unless he was on some crazy hot streak. I don't get it. I guess it's because I want the Lakers to win games.

as a real fan, i'd rather the younger guys take those shots. kobe and the lakers are pretty much wasting this year of development and delaying the rebuild.
the core of randle, clarkson and russell are learning some pretty bad habits and are now getting used to losing.

Re: Retiring or not Kobe's shot selection a bit ridiculous right?
I've been a Kobe fan since he entered the league, and have defended him through everything.
With that said, I've lost a lot of respect for him. He's made comments in the past about how he wouldn't hang around like Paul Pierce averaging 18 points a game(Paul Pierce was playing good basketball at the time). And now he's putting us through this garbage? Right now he's the worst player in the league, and unfortunately, this season is going to hurt his legacy, a lot. There's no excuse, tanking or not. This is selfish, ugly, terrible basketball, and it's kind of sickening how he's getting a pass for it. The front office, and the coaching enables him, and in the end it's only hurting him.
I know he wants his farewell tour, but he should've called it quits, or hung around playing 15 minutes a game and sharing the ball. This is a bad look for him, for the coaching, and for the franchise.

This.
He should live at the elbow, catch and shoot in rhythm, shoot midrange fade-aways, capitalize on his incredible footwork, set cutters up. His main goal should be to, for once in his career, sport a FG% near MJ's; aim to go out with his highest APG of his career. He's tarnishing his own legacy, teaching the next generation Lakers an awful lack of team spirit and is disrespectful to the game he so loves. Writes one thing in a poem, does another on the court. I can't take it, don't want to watch it. Even Stu Lantz commented negatively on it against Philly after the first four jack-off ill advised shots. Stu Lantz criticizing Kobe. Think about it. Stu Lantz! Never. Ever. Happened. Before.
And I've been a Kobe fan for his entire career. This is not his sandbox anymore. He owes it to himself and his fans and the game to go out gracefully, not dishonorably and selfishly. He just doesn't give a flying duck, it seems. Bad mojo to pass along.

ehhh f it...go out blazing. he still wants his to put on some kind of show so instead of driving or post moves which takes a toll on his body he heaves 3s preserving his body for the rest of the season for the paid fans. remember him posting up tony allen after the achilles ? look what happened to his leg.

I get that, but he 35 footers is insanity right? I like the way he played against the Wizards, hoping he keeps that up. He shot a lot more mid range shots, and stuck to his pet moves.
