Kind of weird for Kelly but some game time is good for everyone involved.

Why would you even send Black to the D-League, he's been good and a guy who i actually wouldn't mind giving 20MPG+ to

Kelly on the other hand is where he really should be

It oblivious Byron won't play Black because he doesn't like his defense, and Hibbert, Bass, and Sarce are ahead of him in the depth chart so you do the math.

As mentioned above his defense is bad but more importantly he hasn't been playing much and the D-League is a good place to get some game time.. better than sitting on the bench then getting told to get in the game and you haven't played for 3 weeks. Might be getting him ready to put into the rotation again

that is true, but Upshaw is there also (not sure how he is doing but i imagine one of the better blockers in the D-League right now)

Upshaw has missed a couple games due to a person matter if I remember correctly but he also hasn't been playing really well. needs a lot of work... I think the only stat you might consider him doing well is the blocks you mentioned, everything else is pretty rough for the amount of time he getting

personal matters hopefully isn't related to personal demons

anyway thats a shame, i know he isn't really a scorer yet but i was hoping at least defensively and rebounding wise he would be good

Really illustrates the gap between playing against NBA players and guys who are trying to be in the NBA...

I still think a Kelly Hibbert frontcourt would be a great bench combo if you could convince hibbert to stay for cheap.

Should also point out in full disclosure that Black had 6 turnovers and fouled out in the 4th quarter.

Kelly would be a good player in this league if given the proper role for him.

To the front office's credit, they had the right idea in knowing the type of role he requires when they drafted him to play alongside Howard. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Kelly make a Ryan Anderson career out of himself.

Even with his severe lack of rebounding, if he learned to be able to guard centers, he'd really increase his value.
