Free Agent: Dwight Howard

His decline is obvious, he's no longer the player he once was.
Yet, there are not that many Free Agents esp if Whiteside is locked up early by some other team that promises him the starting position and full max. We would like to preserve 2 maxes in the hopes of signing Durant + another. Of course this scenario is completely moot and academic if we're ahead of the Whiteside race, that's assuming we're willing to pay him his max (22.25M starting).
With all the money flying around and given our history, do we make a pitch at Dwight at all? Granting Dwight is a known commodity and more or less wants to take on the superman role with a younger team beside him + ability to add Durant or Westbrook a year later.
Dwight's narrative could be: that he would come back to LA for unfinished business (of course we all know that Kobe is gone too). Dwight's max is 31.15M starting. Ouch.
