Seems like Huertas is quietly transforming himself into an actual NBA player... I'd say he's the best passer on the team right now, and he doesn't look lost out there anymore... And his D has gone from a fart in the wind to halfway decent.
He was one of my least favorite lakers early in the year, but now I find myself enjoying his play...

You guys agree? Or do I have selective seeing.

Should we see about bringing him back?

i like him, play with urgency, always communicate (probably could be a good mentor for Russell, Randle, Nance and Clarkson because of this), can see the floor very well. His floor general ability remind me to Steve Nash, without shooting of course, as if he is born to be a point.

because of his flair, he sometimes made funny mistakes, and can't help but smile everytime i watch him dribble, don't know why but it's funny. Definetely better than Lou. I like Lou scoring ability, but we already have enough scoring guards..

Replacing Lou's minutes with him has given our offense a great deal of fluidity and a breath of fresh air. I'd like to hold onto him for next season if possible. Good back up PG, seems to be playing well with Russell and always appears to organize the offense when on the floor.

I hope he has indeed turned the corner. The last time we were happy about this guy he started playing like garbage. I'm with Slava, give the backup minutes to him and bench iso Lou.

His connection with Bass al game yesterday was really great to watch. Kind of odd to see something like that essentially come out of nowhere this late in the season.

Marcelo knowing not to look for his own shot and immediately looking to create offense for others really opens up the offense. Which looked great yesterday. Much more reversing the ball, less stagnant dribbling, fluidity.

Marcelo played like exactly the kind of veteran backup I'd love to have. Hopefully he can keep it up and we bring him back.

hes a gifted passer and thats about it.

He is a very good player, he should be a quality rotation player and not a bench warmer. I've never understood why Scott didn't play him at all. He must be the second point guard, he is the ideal back-up to D-Loading.

He's a triple threat (he has shooting believe it or not). Team's look for him to pass and he reads defense cleverly, just like one of his drives yesterday where he took the shot.

And probably his best trait? He has authority over ball handling.

Bring him back. We don't need Lou Williams. That ship has sailed. Right now, Huertas is the only player on the team that really knows how to play the point guard position. I like how D'Angelo Plays when Huertas is on the floor. It feels like there is a order and direction on the floor when he is on the floor. I would like this to rub off on both D'Angelo and Clarkson. With both of their talents and abilities, a little bit of Huertas playmaking, and overall floor generalship will make both D'Angelo and Clarkson much better players. I think that is what the front office had in mind, when they signed him. Maybe playing a little bit of chess.

I'm not in favor of benching Lou, dude can ball and score whenever he wants. But i'd like to see what him and huertas can do together on the court. so bench nick please

ehh youre doing one of those gm poster threads when a player does well in a game or a few "he turned the corner" or needs a contract bad now. hell get crossed over by some bench player in the next game and someone will make a thread why is he in the nba. also where are all the "we should of picked okafor instead of russel" guys now? its pretty funny to me lol.

I hope we can bring him back next season, but dude's gonna get paid if he keeps getting minutes as the season comes to an end. He's showing that he belongs in this league.

i wonder how much of the recent change in offense has helped for huertas to play as he is now.

he'll be on a qualifying offer for next season so should they want him it shouldn't be a problem keeping him

He shoots 40.3%....

He is a pass first PG with good passing vison.
He is the same player that he was in the preseason, he is just getting better chemistry and rhythm with his teammates.

Defiantly could be a backup PG.
Lakers could have traded him to a team looking for PG help

Lou is at 57.6% TS though (elite for guards); his style of play is ugly to watch but it's effective. Lou will be a valuable asset if we have him playing 25-26 MPG in a more limited role instead of featuring him in the offense like he's prime Kobe.

He's good as a backup, but if he doesn't develop a shot he's a career third-string. Because I mean, it's even worse than Rubio's, and his passing isn't better to offset it.

But he's not telegraphing all his passes as much, and he does a nice job of keeping everyone awake.
