"Inspired" by recent GB threads, this thread shall serve as an informal exit polling for fans of the Lakers.

The rules are simple, for every restricted or unrestricted free agent on the team going into the off-season, would you touch him (attempt to keep) or do not touch him (let walk).

There can be varying degrees of how much you would touch him or not, that can be specified for corner cases.

I will start and give an example formatting :

Roy Hibbert
$15,514,031
Verdict: Do not touch him (At that price)

Brandon Bass
$3,000,000
Verdict: Touch him

Ryan Kelly
$1,724,250
Verdict: Do not let Miles touch him

Metta World Peace
$1,499,187
Verdict: Touch him

Robert Sacre
$981,358
Verdict: Touch him

Tarik Black
$845,059
Verdict: Touch him

Jordan Clarkson
$845,059
Verdict: Touch him (at least for two more years)

Marcelo Huertas
$525,093
Verdict: Touch him

I say keep Clarkson as long as you don't end up landing a better replacement in FA...

Black and Huertas you try to keep as backups for the right price.

Bass you give him a chance to see what he can get in Free Agency and if nothing happens or he really wants to stay you resign him.

The rest you let find their own way.

I'm with Kilroy on this one - But would keep Hibbert for maybe the Vet or even less and only as a back up scrub minutes - aka Sacre - Hmm maybe he can replace Sacre :) that would be awesome

Sign Whiteside and keep T.Black and we are set to go for the Center spot

Bass: Keep but i don't think he will stay some team playoff team could use him
Clarkson: Cant afford to let assets walk really just gauge the market and pay accordingly. If you upgrade in free agency you can always trade around the deadline.
Black:I think he has topped out on potential but i would keep him around as an end of the bench big and locker room presence.
Kelly: let walk even though i think he still has some untapped potential and in the right system be a very good bench scorer.
MWP : He's funny and can help the young guys in practice keep him unless a nice D-leauge prospect appears next year.
Huertas: I don't think he will stay and would rather pick up a backup that can help the young guys learn some defense.
Hibbert and Sacre just need to pack up their stuff and go home.

Are you trying to get touched too?

I'm going to quote this because I have a sneaking suspicion you replied to the wrong thread.

Definitely Touch: Clarkson, and Huertas
Attempt to Touch: Bass - I think he's gone in the off season, but if you can get him I think you have to take him.

Maybe: Black.

For anyone who is trying to pickup Hibbert to replace Sacre : I would just take Black. Honestly, he's just a lot less frustrating. Plus, he's young enough to where he can still round his game out a little. With slow ass Hibbert you know what you're gonna get.

I'd keep Hibbert for a better price than $15 mil (way better).
Bass.....eh. Im ok if he leaves. If he's deep bench (DEEP bench) im ok with that.
Kelly has no business playing in the NBA. Same with Sacre.
Love Artest...but its time to retire.
Gotta keep Clarkson. One of our best players.
Huertas doesnt do anything for me

Only 2 players worth keeping from the list is Clarkson, and ideally i'd only go 2 years with him. I might go 3rd year with him at 20 mil if he gets an offer sheet from someone else to match but if they give him the 4 year max (5, 5, 20, 20) i'd say bye bye. His lack of effort on defense is utterly damning and has shown little inclination in being a team player. Of course i mostly blame BS, but i cant justify dropping 50 mil on Clarkson atm. Black is the other, i'd just wait and see how his market develops and match or resign him then.

We're honestly better off going after DLeague call ups instead of giving Sacre, Artest Kelly, Huertas another run. Hibbert and Bass are worth keeping for the vet min but theres no way they accept that. Or better yet draft some kids in the 2nd and actually put em on the roster to play.

This is where having a real coach helps, to coach up a team and build through a process. Christ the last 2 years were an utter waste under BS.
