NBA 2K/Video Games: Create Your Lakers Team!

Post#1 » by TylersLakers » Sat May 21, 2016 6:14 pm

So, I posted this in the FA thread. Ty then recommended a thread for it, so here it is.

If you play 2K, you can download draft classes that are awesome, for example: PS4 -- EmbraceThaPace has a great 2016/2017 Draft Class available.

My recommendation would be updating the rosters, and starting a "MyLeague."

I wonder who can create the best one!

TylersLakers wrote:If anyone is interested.. For s**t's and giggles, and for the fact it's my first weekend not working in about 2 months, I did an NBA 2K simulation. Simulated through the 1st season (this past year, current roster, the team had 14 wins), shut the game off over and over during the draft lottery until we got the second pick. Picked Ingram.

Entered the roster with:

PG: D'Angelo Russell/ Jordan Clarkson/ Jerryd Bayless
SG: Kent Bazemore/ Lou Williams/
SF: Brandon Ingram/ Allen Crabbe/ Dorian Finney-Smith/ Kobe Bryant (He didn't retire, so I stashed him on rest the whole year. Sorry Kobe)
PF: Julius Randle/ Larry Nance Jr/
C: Festus Ezeli/ Meyers Leonard/ Brandon Bass

Simulated the year. Finished 40-42. Made the playoffs an 8th seed. Westbrook won MVP (averaging a triple double). Simmons won ROY. We got swept by OKC in the playoffs.

Regular Season Stats:

Russell: 18.6 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 6.7 APG, 1.6 SPG, 47% FG, 34% 3PT, 74% FT
Ingram: 16.4 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 5.9 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.2 BPG, 44% FG, 36% 3PT, 72% FT
Bazemore: 14.7 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.1 SPG
Randle: 12.0 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 3.4 APG, 46% FG, 29% 3PT (5 makes)
Clarkson: 9.2 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.2 SPG
Nance: 7.8 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 1.4 APG
Crabbe: 7.3 PPG, 1.9 RPG, 0.7 APG
Ezeli: 7.3 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 1.5 BPG
Leonard: 6.2 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 0.7 BPG
L Williams: 5.3 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 1.2 APG (played in 23 games)
Finney-Smith: 2.0 PPG, 2.0 RPG (played in 15 games)

Bass and Bayless virtually nothing.

The key is this: Lakers -- Hire me as the GM. ;) Anyways, back to doing absolutely nothing productive the rest of the weekend other than a few rum and cokes.

EDIT: Some weird things happened. The Raptors traded their lottery pick that they have this year along with some other crap and got Kevin Love (Lineup of Lowry/DeRozan/Carroll/Love/Valanciunas/Powell/Hardaway Jr). LeBron teamed up with Damian Lillard and signed with the Trailblazers (somehow the Cavs were still the #1 seed in the East with a line-up of Irving/Ty Lawson/Marvin Williams/Iman Shumpert/Gerald Henderson/Thompson/Harkless). Thunder won the NBA Finals with a sweep over the Atlanta Hawks.

why is Clarkson so bad

Either way not too bad outside Randle not improving i guess. Some of those F.A's though, at least this is 2k and not real life because if we signed them to the deals they're expected to sign for, and they play like that, we're stuffed.

Going to make this quick. I made edits to the Lakers roster of Russell, Clarkson, Nance Jr, Randle. 2K doesn't have their attributes or length correct imo.

That being said. My 2k Roster.

Russell / Langston
Clarkson / Oladipo (Trade ) / Hardaway Jr
Ingram / Harkless
Randle / Nance Jr / Mickey (Trade)
Whiteside / Jamaycle Green (Trade ) / Cody Zeller / Thon Maker

We're 9-1. We played fast, with the warriors playbook. If anyone is interested in getting a coach that looks like Luke Walton, hire William Goodrich, he's got B+ offense and defense.

Roster isn't really realistic, but it's tried my best to make it realistic. 2k makes it too easy to form a superstar team.

One year i had

Russell
Clarkson
George
Randle
Cousins

Conley/MCW/Huertos

B Ingram/A.Brown/Nance Jr
Randle/Ezeli/Nance/Biyombo
Dieng/Biyombo/Ezeli

Went to Western Semi Final before losing to Warriors in 7. Coach William Goodrich

Yeah that's the coach I picked too. I wonder why Luke isn't in it? The other main assistants around the league are.

I went with the core of Russell/Bazemore/Ingram/Randle/Ezeli with Leonard/Clarkson/Nance/Crabbe off the bench for a year or two and then let Leonard go and got Nerlens Noel in free agency. It improved the team and Russell averaged around 19 PPG, Ingram averaged around 18 PPG. Randle stayed around 12-14 PPG and 10 RPG consistently. Clarkson for some reason never really improved. Actually made a run to the Finals but was swept.

That off-season, I got rid of Clarkson, signed CJ McCollum and got Zach Levine and Marcus Smart. Still couldn't get over the hump and used some draft picks to acquire Greg Monroe after Noel left in FA. Won a Championship with that team in 2022. Ingram won MVP and MIP.

Walton isn't in the game because they put Adams in as the lead assistant for the Warriors for some odd reason!

Ron Adams was the lead assistant I thought. They took a risk on promoting Walton
