So barely a week in and we've already given up on developing Ingram? lol

the fit makes sense since you want a mentor, but 4 years at 72 mill. thats what, 18 mill a season for Luol Deng who is 31 right now. We're going to be locked down with an old man at S.F

It's clear were building this team in the same mold as golden state.. Mitch gonna have to hope the sinister six Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Ingram, Nance and Zubuc develop at a two year pace otherwise we could have a new front office..
Embrace the rebuild.

That was not expected. Hmm. At least he is a veteran who can play still. Now we are at
Russell/Clarkson/Heurtas
Clarkson/Williams/Young
Deng/Ingram/Young
Randle/Nance
Mosgov/Zubaca

I wouldn't make this about Ingram, not like he's going to play all game. Anthony Brown gonna have a hard time seeing the court though, but he barely showed he was NBA caliber last year so meh.
I hate the four years part. Thanks Jim deadline.

I would think they start Ingram, move Deng to the 4 and Randle to the 5.

Aside from that fourth year, this is a really solid deal. Deng is gonna be a great locker room presence for your young guys and he has deep postseason experience as well.
He could feasibly play some minutes at PF as well so that Ingram could have some more room to develop if he's ready. This also destroys any chance of Nick Young getting on the court which should be worth a few wins for your team.

It is likely since Deng is more affective at the 4. Randle is too small to play the 5 and Mosgov got the big bucks. But you never know given Draymond started at the 5. You are correct that Luke will probably roll
Russell/Clarkson/Huertas
Clarkson/Williams/Young
Ingram/Young
Deng/Randle/Nance
Mosogv/Randle/Zubaca

I'm done with this franchise as long as the cancer Jim Buss is still in charge. Wake me up when this nightmare ends.

Is anyone else having a worse free agency than us?

he was pretty terrible as a sf last year but as a PF he really shined. Would be great in a small ball offense that luke will probably try to run.

Yeah that's what I remember and that's what I've been reading. If he does get a nice chunk of minutes at pf along with sf I hope that means someone like Nance is sliding over to center which is something I've wanted.
Russell/Clarkson
Clarkson/Williams
Deng/Ingram
Randle/Deng
Mozgov/Nance
Obviously there will be minutes for others but if that's the main 8 man rotation where all the core youngsters see big minutes I'm happy. Switch Ingram and Deng mid season.
One thing I also like is that Ingram will have a vet to go up against and who's brain to pick cause he wasn't going to learn anything going against Nick Young everyday.

I know the money needs to go somewhere. But I'd rather you guys strike out like the Mavericks than to watch this happen.
These 2 players and contracts are stop gaps that don't even make the Lakers a playoff contender.
This is a shame..

I would have rather over payed and maxed Barnes. How productive is Deng going to be in years 3 and 4?
I always defend Mitch and Jim but I'm not doing it anymore. They're trashing this team and they won't even be here to see it play out.

Sure if the plan is to play half of Deng's minutes at the 4 in small ball lineups since Ingram does not have the body type yet to do that. Either way Ingram is very unlikely to start now and it is very frustrating to see that this decision seems already made this early in the process.
