If I'm getting my timeline right you should be half way or more through it right? I'd suggest sticking through it, you'll get matched if you're at a decent school and even if you don't want to specialize any further, there's alternative careers in consulting that could use a medical degree.

The fall off from MD to lab tech is too big to drop out now. I'm not sure if you have student loans but if you do, you aren't clearing them by being a lab tech. If you think you're miserable now, imagine being knee deep in student loan debt and working for a crappy salary.

You're right, the past month or so has just been one of the most stressful parts of my life so far. I'm halfway now through year 3 so my debts will be heavy. Plus lab tech work is really unfulfilling

Random question here......

Remember December 20-21st 2012 was supposed to be the end of the word (Mayan style)? Anyone know when the next "end of the world" is supposed to hit?

Not that I want the world to end....but just that it's always nice to have something epic to look forward to.

If global warming estimates play out as expected you'll be living on beachfront property in Fresno by 2100.

people with signs on street corners are usually fairly well informed on that kind of thing

I'm old enough to remember the GW estimates of no ice by 1994, Florida under water by 1997 and the end of meaningful life if CO2 hit 375ppm..... Every prediction missed moves the needle. Not saying humans don't effect the environment but the times "Science" has been wrong about this is mind numbing.....

At least the latest estimates are crafted to ensure that the scientists making them will not be around to answer for them if they are wrong again. Who says they don't learn?.....

Yeah its almost like the predictions get better when they have more data and science improves.

There's a difference between weather and climate. Weather forecasting is accurate enough now and climate forecasting is even more accurate.

What's the point in pulling up exceptions rather than the norm?

I don't even understand the point being made. Even if environmental scientists get the timing wrong their conclusions about what will end up happening are still more than likely right. I'd rather start doing something now to help create a better climate future than wait for it to get **** up and be like, well i guess the scientists finally got it right.

In other news I just finished my finals so its time to get **** up.
