Still likely reeling from their huge upset over the ever growing monster that is this Warriors franchise, our Lakers find themselves against an opponent they can surely beat if they can carry over the momentum they've built with victories over the Hawks and Warriors. The impressive recent play of Julius Randle is something that can give the Suns all types of issues on both ends as they don't have anyone to throw against this type of Randle we've seen in the last two games. The emergence of our new 2-way wing in Uncle P should have another fun challenge to take on in the plethora of guards the Suns have to throw at us.

Suns info

Spoiler:
The breakouts of Devin Booker and T.J. Warren have been leading this new Suns direction with Bledsoe, Chandler and 6th man, Knight have been providing much needed support to help those two young studs along. Chriss and Bender are still raw but Chriss will definitely be taking Dudley's starting job by season's end, the kid seems to be exactly what the Suns have been lacking for years since the decline of Amare, a big man with some serious talent to build on. So far they've been healthy and if they stay healthy, they could end up as one of those teams who just miss the playoffs.

No more two point guard line-ups with Booker earning the starting role and Knight moving to the bench for that much needed bench scoring they lacked last year with injuries to Warren as well as Knight iirc. Still they're rotation of big men is mostly inexperienced and should provide plenty of opportunities to turn the ball over if the likes of Randle and Nance are as active as they've been.

The Suns started 0-4 on their season but have won their last two games despite giving up more points than they put up themselves.

This is a team that loves to run up and down with us so defense will be key in making this more than a no holds barred shooting contest. I hope to see our ball movement and active hands on defense as it should provide lots of windows for open buckets or to get out in the open transition for easy buckets. While Chandler is patroling the paint, the Suns don't have anyone else with that defensive mind set and Len is still far away on that end in terms of being a threat as a rim protector so we should win the battle in the paint.

Keys to the Game

1. Rebounding
2. Points in the Paint
3. Low Turnovers
4. High Assists
5. Fast switching on D

I'm hoping for another big night from Randle, who I think has a great opportunity tonight to continue dominating the glass and getting buckets in the paint. In general I'm hoping our forwards feast tonight, I also think if Clarkson can slow down Booker at all, it greatly improves our odds at getting that third consecutive win

Defending their guards will be the key. Not letting down after a huge win will also be important.

Guaranteed loss. The Suns save their season every time they beat the Lakers (like so many other teams) and we tend to come out flat in Phoenix, we normally get destroyed there. Tomorrow is a very good opportunity to dispell the curse.

Guaranteed loss?
No way man!
This team will surprise you. They are hungry and play hard.
We have a solid second unit.
Key will be keeping turnovers down.

Let's go Lakers

This game just screams let down. Beat the warriors on Friday, all the players are probably all excited and partied hard Friday and Saturday. Hope I'm wrong lol

stopping Warren is just as key as Booker, maybe even more. He's much more efficient and doesn't need alot of shots to make impact.

So apparently the Lakers have a new motto within the team they don't say Go Lakers before games anymore. They say "I Love Basketball" hahahahahaha

D'Lo postgame vs Warriors, talks about "I Love Basketball" at about the 4:10 mark.

First time in a long time that before the game starts I have the expectation that they'll win and will be disappointed if they lose.

A loss here will dissolve all the good feelings I have about the lakers starting off .500 and being competitive in nearly each game.

lol same here but just remember the lakers are expected to win between 20-25 games anyway. Anything above that is a positive for LakerLand.
One thing Id like to add is that I truly believe the Lakers have a chance to go on an 8 game winning streak because the next 6 are definitely winnable IF they play like they did against the Warriors.

These are the types of games you have to win if you want to slowly move up on people's respect list.

Personally, I just wanna see the guys continue to attack like they have been, and I want Luke to keep these rotations going. We look like Hockey team out there..and I like it.

We have shown that we CAN win the game, and I'd certainly love it. But I'm much more concerned with the team continuing to work on it's identity. When I think to the end of this season, there's a list of things I care more about having checked off, than our win/loss record. As long as we get near 30, I'm happy. This team needs to be concerned with how it compares to the team that started this season....and not be worried about how we measure up in the league.

Wins are gravy. I'll definitely take lots of wins, but a couple strong showings hasn't raised the bar to where I'm now EXPECTING them. Ya'll root how you want....feel how you feel. To each their own. I just warn against thinking young teams have 'turned corners' after a few nice games. We'll see....the Suns are not incredibly good. We play anything like Fri, and we will prob win it. I just wouldn't be too down on the guys if they don't. Long season...lot's to learn....yada yada
