The Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves seemed to be two teams on similar paths; young rosters filled with high draft picks to develop with new coaches.

While Minnesota's youth seemed to be further along and the Timberwolves were considered an upstart team to begin the season, Los Angeles has adapted the quickest with its new pieces gelling under coach Luke Walton.

The two teams get their first chance at each other Sunday as each will play the second game of back-to-back situations.

The Lakers (6-4) showed their growth again on Saturday night in New Orleans, cruising to a 126-99 victory against the Pelicans. Los Angeles has won five of its past six games.

Thanks for the thread ROballer. Can't believe no one signed up for this game thread. Thought for sure this game would be on a lot of people's "must watch" list.

Gonna be a fun one. Let's Go Lakers!!!

Don't know much about T-Wolves honestly. Interested to see how the game goes.

Once again..I think we just need to do our thing, and not worry about what they're doing. We cleaned up a bunch of our turnovers last night. Hard to say what exactly happened. Pelicans are not a good team. At 2-6, I can't imagine this team is that great. Doesn't seem like a team that 'imposes their will' alot. So let's keep it clean....keep the ball moving, and see what happens

Normally i would expect a really high scoring game between these two teams but seeing as they are both on a back to back, I wouldn't be surprised if both teams come out flat.

I hope the Lakers come out energized with the thought they can get a clean sweep on this road trip.

Last game of a road trip, back to back on the road, against a bad team that is underperforming their supposed talent, smells like a trap game. Going to be interesting how the lakers come out. If they take this one the hype is going to be quite strong.

The TWolves play well in the 1st half and fall apart in the 2nd, if we're going to win this game it might be a come from behind in the 2nd half again.

This is exactly the feel I have for this game.
2nd night of a back-to-back against an athletic team that runs, will be tough.

As much as I want to see how the players respond, I am very interested to see what adjustments , if any, Luke makes.

His level of understanding of the players and their strengths has really impressed me so far.

I would love to see him make some minutes or otherwise player and rotation adjustments and see how that works out.

Let's go Lakers

I think D'angelo's confidence from last game carries into this one.

What's Ingram's status by the way, anyone know if he's playing?

Our bench is good, I think we get this one but it might be close since it's a back to back.. but I thought we were going to beat Dallas too.. :banghead:

Love the mindset of this team.

The Lakers’ success is partly due to a change in attitude compared to last season. New head coach Luke Walton has brought in a positive, team-first approach to the club, and it has resonated with the players. They now approach every game as one that they should win, and believe that no lead is insurmountable. Second-year guard D’Angelo Russell‘s comments after the game against the Pelicans reflects the team’s new-found confidence, via Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times:

“We’re 2-0 on this road trip, 3-0 is what we’re looking for,” Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell said. “Two-and-one is unacceptable.”

Also some good news on the Ingram front. Lets go Lake Show!

He did. He was limping in the locker room after the game. Sore knee, nothing very serious.
