Larry Sanders

Post#1 » by RKL » Thu Dec 1, 2016 7:36 am

Read on Twitter

Had me thinking about if he was coming off the bench with the other Larry. Could really use his interior defense, rebounding and shot blocking.

Seems to be working towards a comeback while living in LA. (Bonus: loves Kobe and Twitter handle obvious play on Lakeshow )

Any interest if/when he announces return?

I love Sanders' potential and before the season I would have said yes. But the way the team is playing and competing, I don't think we need to add any players, especially at the big rotation. Mozgov-Black-Randle-Nance-Robinson-Deng is more than enough.

Dudes are still in love with Larry Sanders? He had 1.5 good seasons about 3-4 years ago.

I can't think of a position we need less than one which Sanders would fill... We're covered between Mozgov and Black. If we need a 3rd, we have Zubac tuned up in the wings... Sanders may be better than black, but I doubt he's better than Moz right now and the chemistry between Randle/Nance/Moz/Black is working well...

We need a PG or SG or a legit starting 3... It seems like the only way to get Russell going, is to take the ball out of his hands and let him play the 2... If that's the case, it may be time to give up on the Russell as Curry dream and find a starting PG... If Russell moves over to the 2 and we fill the 1 with someone legit, Ingram can play the 3 with no problem... We start ?/Russ/Ingram/Randle/Moz and if the "?" is good enough, we make the playoffs.

But Sanders would be wasted energy at this point.

Sanders, if he can rediscover his form, is hands down the best center on our roster. His defensive abilities and athleticism would also mesh well with the current core. The issue with him is, we don't really know where his head is at as far as his career is concerned. I mean, this is a guy who decided to stop trying and walked away from basketball almost as soon as he signed his big money deal. Would he be willing to come in, work his ass off, listen to the coaches and sacrifice personal gain for his team?

If there is one thing Walton has brought over to us from the Warriors, it's that selfless mentality. The Warriors are not just a bunch of stars dunking on people everyday. They are a team, a family and nobody on that team gives a damn about how many points he scores or how many touches he gets on offense. It's all about sacrificing and doing it for the betterment of the team. When I watch our current team, that's the one thing I feel we have as well, a selfless team that cares about playing the right way instead of a bunch of selfish ass holes trying to look cool to get laid after the game. Bringing in a guy like Sanders' mentality is going to set us back in terms of chemistry big time. Unless Sanders has had a change of heart, I just don't see him being a good fit mentally for this team right now.

Do you have the splits between DLO at the Point and at SG?
