Who is your fave LAL player of all time?

Who is your favorite player to ever don the purple and gold, and why? Could be random too. This is all subjective.

I wasn't able to witness the Showtime Lakers live, so it would be cool to get perspective of those who were able to, as there were so many cool role-players: Coop, Rambis, Scott, Thompson, etc.

For myself, well aside from Kobe I would have to say:

He was with us through all the crap with Smush and Kwame ... all the trade rumors. He did it all though, and I'm glad he was a part of two championship teams.

There are alot of Lakers I dig. I'd have to say Kobe and Magic are my 1-A/1-B. They interchange constantly. As far as guy's that aren't maybe so "Iconic" ....I loved Cooper. I really like Artest. So glad he got a ring with us. And I was a HUGE Ariza fan that year and half he was with us.

Hard to call a Hall of Famer / Retired Jersey "underrated"......but I feel Big-Game always played in the Shadow of Magic / Kareem. There's a special spot in there for him as well. The guy was a fu**ing stud. Brought it every night. Loved his stoic one-handed slams he'd do.....and then just turn and run back down the court. There was defending to do.....no time to stare at his hand. Putting the ball in the hole was just doin' his job. Beast.

For me it would have to be Pau. One of the better teammates in best guys in the league. Not going to lie, i often find myself checking his box score stats over the last couple years between his stints with the Bulls and now the Spurs.

Never had the please of seeing Magic with the Lakers but I'm sure he would have been my all time favorite. My list goes

Kobe
Shaq
Lamar

Its going to take these young guys a while before they win me over but Larry Nance is definitely my current favorite Laker by far. I wish he could stay healthy.

All time:
Kareem
Kobe
West (I watched his last season)
Goodrich
Jamaal Wilkes
Fisher
Magic
Shaq
McAdoo
Scott
Nick the quick
Elden Campbell

Current squad:
Nance and Black for making the most out of their talent.
Zubac and Ingram for their potential and complete games at 19
Lou for getting better between 25 and 30. Not a often occurrence in the NBA.

The rest are frustrating to me. So much talent with little desire to get better it seems.

Overall with a case for longevity, it is easily Kobe but his drawn out exit kind of ruined a bit of his legacy for me. On a per season basis, I loved Pau when he came along. Always represented the franchise, the city and the game with dignity and selflessness.

Kobe made me a fan of basketball in general, so it's definitely Kobe.

1) Kobe
2) LO
3) Bynum

Also, special note to Karl Malone. Didn't like him before he was a Laker, but it's one of the most sad things that we didn't give him a win. Also loved Kareem Rush, Shannon Brown, Josh Powell.

Kobe and Shaq are the reason why I became a fan of basketball as well, especially Kobe. Its going to be very tough for anyone to replace him at that top spot. He's basically immortalized in my eyes as a Lakers fan.
