I get the feeling that Colonel Sanders will be better than Mozgov.

I don't see how a guy whos been out of the league for 2-3 years could possibly be better than someone who has been at least in an NBA practice facility consistently.

Didn't we work Sanders out last year as well? Is this part of our annual "head fake" at the trade deadline that typically ends with us being mentioned in just about every deal and being involved in none of them?

Probably an upgrade over fiasco Mozgov, so I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I sure hope so

I'd love to see a center combo of

Black / Zubac / Sanders / Nance (in small ball)

Mozgov has to go lol

In order to move Mozgov we'd have to cough up multiple first round picks on that contract. So no we're not close to moving him.

I don't think this has any effect on Mozgov this year. If Sanders is signed it probably means the end of Huertas, MWP or Robinson. If anything, it could signal a trade of Tariq Black. No one is going to trade for Mozgov, that's just the reality.

Also, I don't get the hate on working Sanders out and meeting with him. If there's any chance he can regain his old self, he's something that this roster does not have which is an elite level rim protector. That would go a long ways to fix an awful defense. I get that it's a long shot, but whats the harm?

im all for his Defense...but is he a offensive liability? moz has the mid range game and finishes with both hands around the rim.

He was no more limited than what Black is now. Any minutes Sanders would see would probably come from Black. Mozgov pretty much lost his minutes to Zubac.

The Lakers should be making trades like the one the Portland did to land Nurkic. Yet we're out here seriously thinking of signing Larry Sanders. Priorities.

Well if you are comparing Sanders vs Mozgov to MJ vs the stars of the season he joined the wizards its a pretty close analogy in terms of talent gap.

So what are we paying him in exactly.

Either way if he comes in motivated he'd be great, he'd give us some defense and rebounding, something none of our other centers can do (Black gives us rebounding but not exactly defense and Zubac is still young). Still more hopefully, maybe some poor sucker out there is taking Mozgov off of us (maybe Deng too).

I was being sarcastic dumbazz.

Just getting at your for assuming the worst.

So how about Metta World Peace? Michael Beasley? Jordan Farmar? None of them (that all were out of the league, and came back) are more/similarly effective than Mozgov, eh?

Sanders would be here on a minimum contract. Since most of the posters here openly complain about Mozgov's contract, that would be another plus to signing a younger, more athletic, player than Mozgov.

I was being sarcastic, but that's a good point. Micheal was 39 years old, but then again, he's still MJ.
