Any amazing prospects in the draft? I don't follow college ball so looking to see what you guys think. Is this going to just be a trade bait type of deal or is there a truly elite player in this coming draft worth developing.

Worth keeping, absolutely. Best prospects are PG Lonzo Ball, PG Markelle Fultz, SF Jonathan Isaac.

If we get the #1 pick, I'd definitely keep Fultz, else keep or trade, I'm not too bothered.

I go back and forth. I think these picks are prob the most over-valued thing in sports. We could really get some nice stuff with that pick.

Here's the issue: In order for it to make sense for us.....the trade has to include not only getting something good, but also that team taking either Deng or Moz. Just getting a good player on his own isn't enough. We also need to free up $$ so that we can get another good player.

Personally, I say we keep. Screw it. Our window really starts in a couple years anyhow. Then those horrific deals are on their last year...our youth will now be developed (for better or for worse) and this new pick will hopefully be emerging into the bright shiny star that most think this draft is full of.

Somewhere there must be a team who's trying to stay up with the cap-floor. Find that team, and offer our Houston pick for them to take one of our crap-contracts. If that happens......then maybe I reevaluate strategies.

God...I wanted that front office replaced so bad last year. I KNEW that they were gonna get desperate, and go do something stupid like offer giant $$ to so-so players. Really tied our hands behind our backs. And people wanted to give them yet another go! Fascinating.

I think we should keep it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is used as trade bait for someone like Jimmy Butler and then the Lakers try to get Cousins/George the following year. Magic is tired of waiting, so I can see him being aggressive.

You keep it. The only way you would think of trading it, is if you already had a star on the team and you needed another to compete. Since we don't have that star then it's better to keep the asset and have it grow with the other young players.

If it would be #1 draft Fultz and keep.

Rest we could trade for really good value. Fultz is few steps ahead everyone else as a prospect and he is best fit in LAL. He is a dream.

Bill Simmons just did an article where he talked about Fulz/Ball as being guarantees comparable to guys like KD coming out of school

Yes! It's a good thing. Lakers entertainment is gonna have an extra emphasis on entertainment these next few years if we get lucky and draft Lonzo.

I normally disagree with your opinions and think youre too hysterical at times, especially with the way you rail at Jim Buss, but this post basically hits it on the head.

It's only worth trading the #1-3 pick if we get a superstar AND dump Deng (i'd keep Mozgov, we need real size and most of the stars we get back are wings anyway). We open up that 18 mil cap space and figure ways to dump Clarkson's 12.5 mil and we're in business in landing another superstar, EASILY.

Honestly a realistic series of moves, assuming we win the #1-2 pick to draft either Fultz or Ball, is trading Ingram + Deng for PG13. Sure we can risk waiting Indy and PG13 out and try to nab him during FA, but there's always a risk he'll resign or sign elsewhere Then we ask Blake Griffin if he wants to join our up and coming squad while he has a dynamic wing buddy with PG13. If Blake indicates yes, then if we need to dump Randle somewhere to open up cap to make the max offer to him. Hell if PG13's agent REALLY leans on Indy, maybe we can even trade a Clarkson, Randle, HOU 1st package him. But then we're still stuck with Deng's turd of a deal, maybe we can trade Ingram+Deng elsewhere for something really nice.

SF-George, ??? (Swaggy on a cheap resign would be ideal), HOU 1st?
SG- DLo, Clarkson
PG- Fultz/Ball, ???, HOU 1st?

Starting lineup will be amazing as our young guards wont be depended on to provide everything, they're mostly there for support and theyre gonna be WIDE open so much due to the superstars eating all the attention. Bench is a bit thin and young. Really need a vet PG to steady the 2nd unit. If we're lucky our FO can get another Clarkson/Nance/Zubac level hit on the HOU 1st and we get ourselves a decent young PG or SF. The team is young and depending on our youth can REALLY go somewhere.

His father has no choice. He does realise there is a 50-50 chance the pick will not convey. Stupid, stupid man. Whoever drafts Lonzo will have their hands full, dealing with this nutcase. I hope the celtics get him. lol

Lonzo Ball is at the top of my draft board currently. Malik Monk is coming on strong though.

I think we have enough youth. It's time to get a star wing or PG to be "THE" guy for a while and take the pressure/spotlight off the kids. This will be important with Magic running the team IMHO. Based on what he did when he came back and when he coached he has little patience for younger players.

Well Magic knows that we are trapped with Golden State in the west. The only way we have a chance is Golden States gets old or self distract.
