Here's my rationale:
1. First of all, Nance is likely my favorite player in the league without Wolves ties. That's a big motivation for this on my end.
2. It balances your roster, eliminating one from your glut of young PFs and adds a young center. Ingram/Kuzma/Patton is nice!
3. For a young, growing team, it's probably beneficial getting someone younger and on a longer deal.
4. Minnesota reasoning comes down to better roster balance and getting someone who is in the mold of Taj Gibson.

For the record, I'm arguable the biggest Justin Patton fan on the Wolves board, so it's not easy for me to offer him in a trade. That's how strongly I feel about Nance. Then again, many of you probably knew that already.

We only have like 4 centers on our roster already and we play small with Randle and Nance at 5.

Nance for Tyus Jones is a trade I'd do happily. You can have Ennis as well for a steady back up PG if you need that.

I was looking longer term as opposed to just this year. I doubt Lopez and Bogut are major pieces going into your future or even on your roster next year. Zubac is buried in Walton's rotation, and I don't think Bryant's that good.

As much as I love Nance, I don't think I could trade him for Tyus.

Sure, you love your prospects and we love ours. So no trade. :D

Even without Lopez and Bogut we have Zubac and Bryant, both of whom the front office love, Bryant is a very intriguing prospect as a stretch 5, that should fill the nominal center minutes. Luke wants to play small and switchable anyways so Nance or Randle are likely our future starting centers.

We're trying to lose forwards. Nance is valuable for us. Throw in a 1st and I'd consider it.

Don't forget Patton is trash. 2 years away from 2 years away kind of player.

Illegal trade since Philly own the rights to the 1st if it lands there and 6-30 if it lands there. I'm curious to see what you guys do at the deadline with Clarkson/Randle/Deng and if anything eventuates.... Randle and Clarkson are balling this year (as expected with Randle because he's in a contract year)

Looks like you’re calculating cap space by how much money comes off the books when you should be calculating how much is left over on the books.

Right - Lopex makes upwards of $5mil more, Randle almost $1mil more. Makes nearly $6mil they shed which they can use, on top of the $22 mil approx in expiring. How do you calculate it differently? They can take back that much salary according to Trade machine, and it comes off the books.

I know it's not a home run for NO but having him walk for nothing ... I don't think he'll stay even with the Bird money. He'd make that up in LA just being here, no?

Cap space is measured by how many contracts you have on the books going into a season, not by how much salary comes off the books from the previous year.

Are you saying that if the lakers traded Lopez and his 23 mil expiring for someone’s $28 mil expiring the lakers would suddenly be looking at $5 mil more in cap space this summer?

That's exactly what i thought. Live and learn.

How about Dedmon for Randal and Ennis?

Trade 1
JC and Nance for Lavine heck even throw in a future 1st or 2nd

https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6987290

Even Randle for Lavine works just by it's self :)

I'd risk it at this point

Bad trade. Lavine is a RFA and has a 9 million cap hit. Sure he could be something to build around, but after an ACL?... who knows.

Well go do your research. lol One shoots 40% the other shoots 39%. Both expiring deals. Both rentals to stay on our plan. G Marco swap out with G Clarkson, PF Ersan swap out PF Nance. It's perfect.

For this season and to clear the table. We need some vets who can shoot this season to help our keepers ease into their roles. Nance is the expendable asset that gets rid of Clarkson.
