What would a dlo lonzo backcourt look like?
IMO, if russell can put up 40 points while playing SG, i feel like adding lonzo can work and add more wins.

If his shot can translate to the NBA he'd be Clarkson in transition with elite vision, better defensive instincts and killer spot up shooting. I think they'd be a great fit.
Instead of DAR spoon feeding Nick Young, we'd have an elite playmaker on the floor spoon feeding him. On the other side of the ball Ball can guard the quicker guards and let D'Angelo focus on attacking.
The thought of Ball/D'Angelo/Ingram/Nance/Zubac is super exciting to me. Just ballers with a ton of length, who make the right basketball plays.
If Nance gets his 3 pointer going--then watch out.

Love the idea of what a potential backcourt pairing of those two look like. Not only would he be a massive upgrade over JC from a talent standpoint, his skill set on both sides of the ball are a vastly superior compliment to Russ's game over JC's.
So a core moving forward of:
D'Lo
Ingram
Zubac
Randle
Ball
Not bad. I think that's a core that could do some damage. I'd honestly think about moving Randle to the bench at that point and let him play a more point forward role and move JC out. Then you could replace Randle in the lineup with someone who balances out the starters more. PG maybe?

If Nance could start knocking down that three point shot at a respectable rate, then he he'd absolutely be the perfect final piece to the puzzle.

Lonzo Ball is the best prospect in this draft. With his talent, quick pass, vision, great decision makin that he has, not only he's the best fit, he will be the best player in this draft, and will be good for another 20 years in this league.
Lonzo Ball already better outside threat than Jason Kidd in the same age.

Another ball handler on the team would help Russell's game go to the next level.

I think putting another wing next to Russell who is competent and willing passer would be great. Ball is far more thst competent so it would be a significant boost to Russell's game.

I'd love Lonzo on this Squad and what an amazing story it would be from Chino Hills to Pauley Pavillion to Staples Center. But sadly there's no way we're getting him unless we get the #1 pick which craptastic Brooklyn is gift wrapping the Celtics this upcoming draft

There's no guarantee Ball goes number one. Fultz still seems to be the number one guy. The current order of the picks doesn't really matter because it will most likely all change after the lottery. Last year was he first time in the history of the lottery that the order of the draft didn't change.

Fultz is the better prospect, and he's number one in every mock draft I see.
If we get the second pick, we could draft Lonzo Ball

Fultz is actually the most likely to go number 1 as it seems a majority of executives have him going number 1. All the Mock drafts have been following that thought as well.

I'm happy with either Ball or Fultz. If Celtics wanna go with Ball I'll be happy with Fultz.

I was hesitant on Lonzo because I was hesitant on playing D'Lo at the 2, and I hate Lonzo's shot.....but its starting to look like Lonzo would still be the best fit with the Lakers.
I wanted Josh Jackson before, but I think I'll take Lonzo, then Fultz, and then Jackson.
But as long as we retain the pick, which it looks like we will, I'm happy.....but after this season, its GO time or TRADE time.
After this draft, the Lakers will have drafted Randle, Clarkson, Russell, Nance, Ingram, Zubac, one of the 3 I mentioned this year, and another 27th, which is MORE than enough to rebuild. Its time to start gelling and start winning. If it doesnt happen consistently over the next 2 years or so, then its going to be time to trade guys away.

This quote that I found, written by Lakerfilmroom, talks about how Russell and Ball are such a great fit on offense.
As counterintuitive as it may seem, Lonzo Ball’s limitations in the pick & roll, inexperience running a pro-style offense, and spot up shooting ability may lead him to begin his career as a PG in transition, but a SG in half court situations.
The Lakers are an ideal fit to mask his offensive deficiencies and accentuate his positive attributes. Ball isn’t nearly as ball dominant as you might expect from a player who is amongst the NCAA leaders in assists per game, and has a great feel for back cuts and counters off of the ball. If Luke Walton wants to go further down the path of the Golden State Warriors, who run more off-ball screens and fewer on-ball screens than nearly every other team in the league, a D’Angelo Russell/Lonzo Ball backcourt would go a long way toward achieving that. Russell’s immersive education in pick & roll play and offensive organization over the last 6 months minimizes Ball’s weaknesses and inexperience, Ball impacts the game in transition in a way that Russell never will, and both can spot up and work as a cutter while the other runs the show. Their biggest collective weakness is the ability to get to the basket off of the dribble, which certainly matters, but isn’t a fatal flaw within a Laker offense that presumably seeks to emulate the ball and player movement of the Warriors more than it’s been capable of with their existing talent.

if russell can catch and shoot like alford did, he's going to be just fine.

I think Lonzo is the perfect fit for your guys team. I think it would do wonders for Russell and Ingram. I also think the ball can stick with your team right now a little too much. Ball is obviously great at moving the ball and that tends to rub off on his teammates. I think Russell would go from a solid facilitator as a PG to a really good secondary facilitator. I still think Russell is a scorer first but tries to fight it because he feels like he needs to because he plays point. I think you will see a huge boost in his production if he gets to play alongside Ball. Plus you guys would be freaking massive 1-3.
Ball 6'6
Russell 6'5 (6'10 wingspan)
Ingram 6'9 (7'4 wingspan)

I've watched a handful of his games online, and, admittedly, I don't really no the context of the games I watched, but Frank Ntilikina appears to me to be every bit as good as Lonzo Ball.
Before the need for outside shooting and playmaking, this team needs defensive players more than anything else.
Frank Ntilikina gives you all of those things (shooting, playmaking, and defense) with a seven foot wingspan (at 6'5) to boot.
If Josh Jackson is off the board, I wouldn't hesitate to take Ntilikina over Ball, Fultz, Tatum, Isaac, or Monk.
As far as I can see, Ntilikina gives you everything Ball can do with the added defensive lockdown potential, so I'm sold.

Great points today. Russell/Ball have potential together to be a nice backcourt. Add in Ingram and we're on our way
I still think we need a shot blocker but i may be wrong. If Zubac can hit the weight room he may be that guy

A Lonzo/Russell/Ingram/Zubac will be the worst defensive team in the NBA. And the BEST OFFENSIVE TEAM IN THE NBA!!!!! But yeah I think we should get an extremely athletic Center/shot blocker.
