Thought I'd update the month of March statistics for the young core. This is the first real month they've all got consistent playing time together not hampered by the veterans.

D'Angelo Russell: 18.6 PPG, 33.2 MPG, 43% FG, 36% 3PT, 75% FT, 2.8 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.8 SPG, 2.7 TO
Jordan Clarkson: 19.4 PPG, 36.2 MPG, 44% FG, 35% 3PT, 89% FT, 3.3 RPG, 4.2 APG, 0.7 SPG, 2.4 TO
Brandon Ingram: 13.5 PPG, 35.5 MPG, 52% FG, 30% 3PT, 53% FT, 4.1 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 2.4 TO
Julius Randle: 13.0 PPG, 31.5 MPG, 45% FG, 35% 3PT (23 ATT)/, 77% FT, 9.9 RPG, 4.2 APG, 0.8 BPG, 0.4 SPG, 2.4 TO
Ivica Zubac: 11.1 PPG, 20.9 MPG, 57% FG, 62% FT, 4.8 RPG, 1.4 APG, 1.0 BPG
Larry Nance: 7.1 PPG, 21.9 MPG, 49% FG, 29% 3PT, 68% FT, 5.0 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1.3 SPG,

I would still like to see more Nance and Randle together. 22 MPG for Nance isn't enough. He needs to be our 1st big man off the bench, with Tarik Black filling in during foul trouble, a 5 minute stretch, etc.

If Zubac is out for the season, let's hope Nance and Randle possibly start together.

How is it Ingram is such a miserable free throw shooter?

He doesn't have consistent form due to lack of strength/stamina from getting tired. Once he adds more muscle he'll be able to get more consistency on his form throughout the game.

Seems like ever since he air balled that FT at MSG he's been awful from the FT line. Meanwhile, his mid-range game has been amazing during that time.

He was bad at Duke as well but I think a lot of it is fatigue and just not being comfortable yet. He shot 80% as a senior in high school and was always mid to high 70s in high school. Hes not a great FT shooter but hes definitely better than what he has shown.

I think with Ingram so much is about his comfort and thats why it took him a couple months to show out at Duke and why it has taken him a few months this year to finally start showing his potential. Once he gets more comfortable I think he can be a good FT shooter again.

He will be fine (I say that and I'm not one to speak in definitives). It would be nice to know what he will ultimately develop into but half the fun is the journey. We'll just have to be patient, not lose confidence in him and hope for the best.

I was on the verge of doing a similar thread but I was going to wait till the season was over and I was going to use the kiddos stats post all-star break numbers in their entirety. With that in mind, since you've already done this thread, I'll link what I was going to do to what you've already done:

Good month for Russell. Could've been even bigger. He had 17 points on 12 shots against Boston. That should have been a game he got 20 shots. He 14 points on 9 shots against Mil, but got ejected unfortunately. That had the potential to be another big game. He had 15 points on 9 shots against Minn too, but Clarkson was feeling it, so the team decided to ride the hot hand that game. Overall, post all star break (PASB), he's sitting at: 18.9 PPG, 5.0 APG, 2.9 RPG, with a 16.3 PER, 54.5 TS%, and 104.6 ORating. I think he's going to break out as a good efficiency 20 PPG scorer next year.

I am a little sad he's going to finish the year averaging less than 30 mpg though, as that ranks as my biggest disappointment of the season. Looking at his PASB production, It's clear he should have been getting 32 plus min a game all season.

Oh well, the kid is still on his way. Speaking of disappointments...

That's a decent month for Clarkson, but even with that good month, his PASB production is: 17.6 PPG, 4.0 APG, 3.1 RPG, with a 12.9 PER, 51.9 TS%, and 102.8 ORating...

Those numbers are brutal for a player at Clarkson's stage of his career. He's supposed to be in his prime, and at best he's just a widly inconsistent 15+ PPG scorer. Even more alarming, advanced metrics say he's been the worst defender of the young core, easily. Of all the members of the young guns, he's the guy the front office will have to do the most soul searching on this offseason. His lack of progression ranks as another massive disappointment for me for the season.

Ingram has had a rocky season, but you're starting to see the flashes of brilliance that's going to make this guy an absolute force. Russell is my favorite Laker, and the guy I root for most because of the unfair criticism he gets, but Ingram is going to be the 1A to D'Lo's 1B.

His poor FT and 3 PT percentages aren't alarming to me at all. As TyCobb said, I'm sure its a minutes vs strength/stamina issue. What's amazing is even with his struggles from the line and three, he's still posting a 54.6 TS PASB. When this kid hits his peak, he's going to be a 25 PPG/60 TS player. His length plus skill set is just going to allow him to impact the game in ways D'Lo can't.

Like Clarkson, Randle was a guy who I worried about fit. However, the guy is starting to find his groove, and he's gone from a guy who I think the team should shop to a guy you have to start trying to figure out how to keep and use correctly. I remember another poster mocked me when I said he could get up to a 34-35% 3 PT shooter. Don't look now, but that's a month worth of 35% 3 PT shooting.

PASB he's sitting at: 13.5 PPG, 10.4 RPG, 3.9 APG, with a 17.1 PER, 53.6 TS%, and 109.7 ORating. He's also shooting 32.4% from 3. You don't just ditch a 22 year old still ascending player giving you production like that, unless you're getting a significant return.

I would love to test Randle out in a Kukoc/Lamar Odom type role coming off the bench, as I think he'd thrive is such a role.
