It's going to come down to ping pong ball luck, and really difference between 2nd worst, tied for second worst, or third worst isn't that much. Best case scenario is the youngsters really start clicking and have something to build on going into the off season AND lakers get lucky in the lottery.

Julius Randle: “We’re just trying to compete & finish the season the right way. Give fans what they deserve.”
I guess we deserve to lose the pick then? Thanks Julius!

If the youngsters don't at least compete then that would mean all of them are overrated. Who wants young players who don't compete and just mail it in? If Llakers got blown out 7 games straight to end season. The youngsters are all overrated because they ended the season showing 0 progress. Trade all of em

I'm just worried about the last 4 games of the season. They are non playoff teams and GS. I'm 90% sure Kerr will rest all of his starters, so that leaves us another game to worry about. I'm irritated winning those two past games (Minnesota and Memphis) and they are leaving us with no room to work with.
This is the final and last time I want to tank. If we keep this I'll forever be against tanking until we have to rebuild again.

Not all, it's very likely that Durant will get time.

Lakers will get the pick. I don't understand why fans worry. My point is you don't want young players tanking on purpose because it show's lack of heart. I like how Russell was upset after the Clippers game about the loss and his performance.
If he was happy id want him traded. I don't want players on this team with 0 heart. Compete till the end.

I'm gonna watch the game later tonight, but from looking at the boxscores it looks like Russ was feeling it. As much as he can pass, he still turns the ball over too damn much. That's another reason why SG is the spot for him.

He should make a phenomenal SG assuming he can embrace that role once he's told that's where he's going to play.
Obv he would be able to get spot minutes at backup PG and if the rookie we draft isn't 100% ready from game one there's a chance he would get a lot of minutes at PG.

Russell , just had a bad 1st quarter. No big deal. It doesn't mean he's not a PG. What he lacks is teammates that can shoot on a consistent basis and finishers. If he had Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudamire of the 2005 Suns, he would average 10 to 12 assist per game. He bounced back after a bad first quarter and outplayed both Mike Conley and Tony Allen. He was blowing by both of them with ease and getting to the rim. Lakers need to also work on spacing

Hate to break it to you, but Marion and Stoudemire got nothing left in them.

I know that. I meant at their peak. They knew how to set a screen and roll to the basket. Both also had great hands.
It's hard running pick n roll with Randle, because all he will do is catch and dribble 10 times. I thought Russell and Zubac were developing pick n roll chemistry. Zubac, has great hands and can finish at the basket.

Just me or does Ennis seem like worth while to invest a bit of development into as a guy who could be a better than average backup?

Good God no, I think we should cut him today and sign someone else as a trial for the remainder of the season. He is not a good defender and the offense is stagnant when he is the lone guard on the 2nd units. The dude has zero feel for the pick and roll game.

Nice looking play. If he can gain a little strength in the offseason I see him finishing plays like that with dunks.
