I'm going to be on a 14 hour flight the day of the lottery so I'm going to find out if we got the pick like 8 hours after its announced.

May 16th
If there are basket-ball Gods....may they strike me down, and reward Luke for his NBA honor.
I think we have a couple good players in our core. Another guy would sure be nice.

Good to see progress from Dlo, BI, Zubac, Nance, Clarkson, Randle (sort of) and Nwaba this year. It was a good group who made progess this year and will become part of the core guys that lead us to a championship down the road.
Good to see Lou moved to Houston (thank you for #28 pick) and hopefully Young will go next year or he will sit in the bench most of the time. I hope all the returners work on their craft over the summer (including Deng and Moz) and get better for next year with a few new rookies added to the roster.
As for the lottery, lets go!!
15.6% at #1
46.9% at top 3
Almost a coin flip chance at top 3!! May the basketball gods help the Lakers!!

Would suck to lose our pick and 2019, but our 2018 pick would be nice to have as we will still be a bottom 3 team no question about it.
If we get the #3 pick, we need to consider trading that along with one of the Mozgov/Deng contracts with it.

Do you dream of Mozgov and Deng dude?
Trading the top three pick to get rid of one of your scorned lovers would be the definition of impetuous.

I don't stress about things in which I have no control, and I hope Magic ain't either.
My wish is that they already have a strong contingency plan if they lose the pick.

Re: 2017 Lakers Lottery Watch
dont mind the invasion but May 16 is an awful long time to wait for the lottery. Does anyone think it would make more sense to schedule it in between the end of the season and the beginning of the first round. The Thursday/Firday following the seasons end seems to make sense and also keeps the league in the news cycle for an additional day.

You're delusional is what you are. I challenge you to not mention Mozgov and/or Deng for your next ten posts.
I can see you twitching now. It's okay, stop sweating, I won't hold you to it.
To deal with your issue though, you should write a comic book series with two characters named Mozgov and Deng as the criminals who raped you and murdered your dog. Avenging them, even if it's only in comic book world, could help you come to grips with your obsession.

It makes sense, specially since teams out of the playoffs can already he making trades

Agreed. It would make the trade market significantly better and give the NBA significantly more to talk about than just the playoffs.
I say in between the 1st and 2nd round would be perfect.

Be careful what you ask for. If the Celtics got number one before the playoffs began, Thomas might be so inundated with talk of Fultz being his replacement, that it may negatively effect his play.

He's an All Star that deserves some MVP recognition, don't worry he won't be scared that a rookie will take his spot. It might even make him play even better if he was that insecure.

You're exactly right, he would play better. I was being silly. I can't think of any real drawbacks to moving the date up other than giving the draftees more time to decide if they want to declare.

Re: 2017 Lakers Lottery Watch
Agreed with the notion that it should be sooner. The gap between the regular season and the playoffs is perfect but the NBA has this fascination with building up hype. I think it could all change if Silver and the owners go through with changing the lottery format.
