This is the guy that was suppose to get everyone under 10% body fat. I guess nobody is playing next year

Magic has a call in to his Peruvian Connection for his "Special Strength and Conditioning Secret."
Makes me wonder though, who's going to run that new state of the art training facility?

Good point. I forgot about the new facility. Something seems fishy.

Not a big deal. Wasn't really impressed with him on all his backstage Lakers appearances. Him being the 'best asset downstairs' just shows what kind of state we were in.

It's all for the benefit of the players. Waiters cut down that fat and had a great season. Magic letting the boys know they ain't playing around and it's time to get in the best shape as possible.

Re: Tim DiFrancesco resigned from the Lakers
There are a lot of good trainers out there... Not sure how many great ones there are or where DiFran fell on that list...
But I do think body fat percentage is a little bit arbitrary as an indicator of performance or success... We had no serious injuries this season. That's probably a better indicator. I just think if the report is true and that's what Magic and Toady were concerned about, it's not a very in-depth analysis.
All in all... I have no real idea of this guy was doing a good job or not. So, I'm not getting too fired up about another guy leaving.
Should talk to Vitti again though. Magic won't, but they should.

Nothing wrong with a clean slate. I'd be happier sooner if they hire a proper analytics department instead of some part time grad students from UCLA.

He was good with nutrition, as far as making sure the players were properly fueled - at least from what he posted on twitter; however, dude's "how to perform x lift" videos on twitter sometimes had weird form for your everyday lifts.

Time to upgrade. Sports nutrition is changing a lot.

I thought the same but it sounds like this guy was kind of cutting edge with that... I looked at some of the other top strength/conditioning guys around the league and a lot of them are old as hell...
But like I said before, there's a whole lot of guys out there right now, just waiting for an opportunity like this. So I'm not sure it's that big a deal, all things considered.

How stupid is it that "resigned" and "re-signed" mean exactly opposite things.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

Re: Tim DiFrancesco resigned from the Lakers
I'm not surprised. Luol Deng was clearly out of shape all season.
But it was also a point made with D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle during their exit interviews. Both were talking about their physical fitness as being a main focus in the offseason.
I'd say this, defense is a lot about desire and skill, but you also need to be in shape to play great defense. At least one variable can be addressed in our league-worst defense.
