What are your thoughts? Pros? Cons? Conditions?

We have like 5 pfs on the roster already to be tying up our capspace on him.

So, I take it then a condition of yours would be to move at least three of them first?

I would entertain the idea of Millsap as a big brother pro of this squad, given we first moved Deng, Randle in a trade...

Is that a yes?

If you sign Millsap you can kiss signing George in free agency goodbye.

Under what conditions? Who would you trade first etc? He's a solid player.

Given his availability, we should explore if it can make us better. It could afford us some cap space.

No way. He's entering his decline, with boards, blocks, steals and FG% all way down this season even with more minutes played than last year. That's not a good sign.

He's 32 years old and if we signed him his contract would be looking very "Dengish" in the very near future.

Love Millsap's game, think he's criminally underrated, and he'd be a great fit next to Russ, Ingram, and Ball. That in mind, as Slava said, you'd need to do something with one of the myriad of PFs on this roster, (likely Randle), and you'd be closing the door on any chance to get Paul George. I'm not emotionally invested in the idea of getting PG, so I'd be open to Millsap coming, but I think the new FO is all in on PG to LA, so its a safe bet Millsap won't be coming.

Milsap just opted out of a $20M/yr contract... And he's 32years old... No way he signs with us for less than that... Maybe if we were the Warriors, Spurs or Cleveland...

And he was only marginally better than Randle last year statistically (Better from 3, worse from 2 and worse rebounding and assists)...

Stick with Randle... Most likely the cheaper option with actual upside.

Giving a big man that is 30+ yrs old a 200+ mil deal isn't the way to go.

I believe you meant 7 months ago.

At the same time, Jim was making moves that Jesse interpreted as mortgaging the Lakers' future to save his job. In early January, he heard the Lakers had been discussing trades for veteran players -- like Atlanta's Paul Millsap -- that involved giving up several of the team's young players.

"I emailed Joey and Jeanie: 'This is the time where you need to step in!'" Jesse says. "The next day, she sent an email to everyone saying, 'If any trades being discussed include our young players, please notify me so I can sign off.'"

I can comfortably say NO to this one.

He's 32.
Poor fit, here.
Will probably have a huge price tag.
Will probably get a 3-4 year deal.

The only way I'd entertain this would be if Atlanta did a sign-and-trade for Deng.

In a perfect world, he'd be a perfect fit. However --

- We already have an imbalanced roster with way too many bigs and not enough guards.
- We're trying to save our cap space for 2018
- He's 32

Unless we manage to unload Deng AND Mozgov, I see no reason to bring him on.
