How do you feel about the Dlo + Moz trade for Lopez and #27 pick?
Background:
1. Dlo: *2017-2018 season would be the 3rd year for Dlo and controlled salary until 2021-2022 season.
*Dlo showed a lot of progess last year in becoming the Lakers best player averaging 15.6 ppg.
*Led the team with 4.8 assists per game.
*Horrible defense and sometime lazy showboating pass misses.
*Locker room and character issues with the Swaggy P incident.
*Questionable leader quality
2. Moz:*4 years 64 million contract
*Backup center behind Black, Zubac and Nance
*Had his moments and some good dunks
*Old school, back to the basket, and unfit for Lakers without a 3 point shot
3. Lopez*1 year remaining, 22.6 million expiring contract
*Former All-Star
*Shot 35% from 3 on 5.2 attempts per game
*Averaged 20.5 and 1.7 blocks per game
*82% FT shooter
*Struggles with rebounding
4. #27th pick in 2017 draft*Good potential players including Bell, DJ Wilson, Ojeleye, Bradley, Jackson

I'm pissed and I will never understand it unless we bring in a superteam to LA.

This. If we dont use this cap to bring those superstars, it will be the dumber move ever. 21 years, puting 16/4/3...It will be fun, next year, when Lebron/Cousins/Westbrook resign with their teams while DAR is puting something close to 22ppg/7ass/5rbs.

Option 6. Secretly praying to pagan gods that Silver nixes the deal citing basketball reasons.

Russell sometimes cant even make a simple passes, but still i just think we should wait for next season when Russell value higher or even keep him if he showed some progress playing alongside Lonzo Ball.

Agreed. I won't understand this deal until LeBron & Paul George sign on the dotted line. Even then, there are other ways we could have got to two max salaries by keeping Russell.
Extreme negligence.

Unless the #27 pick or Lopez is used to trade for George now, I dont understand why this trade was done this offseason. Mozgov with 2 years left would be less of an albatross to move and indeed Russell had a chance to really up his value next year. My only guess is that the FO believes Ball/Russell backcourt is incompatible, though I wouldve liked to have seen it be so before moving on from it.

Im very disappointed.
All D'Angelo is worth was a salary dump? If his trade value is that low, you simply dont trade him, ESPECIALLY when he's a 21 year old kid with the potential to be the next Mike Conley.
Every kid makes mistakes. He even joked about it in a Footlocker commercial. You dont just up and trade a cornerstone piece just so you can get rid of a big contract.
Now they have put all their chips into the 2018 free agency without any confirmations. It wasn't a safe basketball decision on our part, and the added 27th pick surely wasn't enough to get Pritchard to budge on PG13.
On top of that, Im fairly sure Lebron wouldn't come to the Lakers.
And finally, Im VERY sure no team the Lakers assemble is gonna dethrone the Warriors as long as they're together, which is why it was a wiser option to let them fade whilst building our team and letting them grow together and coming up at the same time as the 76ers, Bucks, and Wolves.

They probably just wanted pimple penis face to feel more comfortable
Enough already. We get it that people are upset about this. But we can do better than this.
The next 24hrs are probably going to be pretty crazy and the mods aren't going to have much patience with derailing or personal attacks.
You've been warned. Hopefully you and the rest of the posters learn from this.

At face value, the return was low, but Brooklyn absorbing Mozgov will probably be worth more than Dlo.
Maybe the FO considered his knee issues to be a red flag. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall when he liked the disparaging tweet regarding Lonzo. Maybe they're actually looking to improve defensively.
Only time will tell.

Not matter how much you hate D'angelo, or you dislike him, you have to admit the timing of this deal was bad. That's my main problem with it. If you do this deal, another deal for Paul George should have already been made. If we are not dealing for Paul George this offseason, then why dump salary for 2018 right now? We could have made a similar deal in 2018 offseason, where Mozgov would only have 2 years left on his contract, and Russell would have a better trade value. If we don't get Paul George this offseason, then this trade was extremely bad, and imo just as bad as the Mozgov signing was.
If we don't get Paul George and you/anyone defends this trade, then you're just a D'angelo Russell hater. Plain and simple.

My overall satisfaction with the trade is directly related to what they do with the picks... If they trade them for a star player, I'm cool with it... Especially if #2, Ingram and Randle are still here...
If they use the picks and get some intriguing players, I'll be cool with it too, but I'll still see it as a whiff by the FO, in that they clearly made the trade with the intent of getting PG, and failed.
If they fail at getting PG and trade the #2 pick for Porzingis, I'm with Slava... Things will be kicked... Lots of things.
