Interest in Blake Griffin or Hayward?

Post#1 » by RingsDontLie » Mon Jun 26, 2017 5:46 am

Why not sign Hayward in the mean time and then get George? Or sign Blake in the mean time and then get George? I mean what makes George better than Hayward? Not much.

I'm really not interested in Griffin.
I'd love Hayward but it would have to be a sign and trade because of the salary cap.
I doubt Utah deals with us.
Assuming they do, who would you trade for him?

I think if you get Hayward, you don't care about George anymore... That said, I don't thing we need either of them with Ingram and Ball on the team... A small small forward or big SG isn't a position of need on this team... We need a 3 and D wing... Preferably a small one...
Giffin would be a step up from Randle, but depending on his health, maybe not a huge one...

I'm fine standing pat and not brining in any of them right now. Not sure if the relationships with JC and Randle have been damaged beyond repair or what, but if not, let's see how they play with Ball for a while. And then go after LeBron next season...

And when you bring in LeBron, he's bound to have guys in mind he wants to team up with so let him figure out who the other max player is... I don't mean that literally... I mean if you think LeBron may be on his way, it's smart not to make any plans for the rest of your cap space, because that changes everything.

Dude I would definitely love to go for Hayward, though I think we would not be high in his consideration as opposed to boston.

I would let them have their pick, minus Zo and Ingram.

I said this in the trade thread.. but I don't see why magic and Pelinka are just electing to sit this free agency class out... We should definitely be making a play at Hayward... He's legit

Griffin doesn't really fill a need, and Hayward will be one of the most desired free agents. If we could sign him, we absolutely would.

XXBKXX,

A player with 7-9 years of experience like Hayward is eligible for the higher of $30.6 million per year or 30% of the salary cap (.30 * 99 = 29.7). In other words, other teams that have room, like the Celtics who are fighting for the championship, will offer Hayward $30.6 million and we will ask him to join Deng in lovely LA for $20 million thanks to Jimbo and Mitch.

Any chance he loves LA and the early summer this much?

No thank you. I'd rather have PG13 who is slightly better than Hayward and they are both SFs. Griffin? Not even for cheap.

Hayward would be great if we could convince him to come. Even without P.G

Lonzo-Hayward-Ingram-Randle-Lopez

Thats a playoff team i think (a very low playoff team but it should give us the 10 extra wins to sneak in).

Griffin is made of glass. Do not want. I'd love Hayward though, although I think he's a pipe dream. Perhaps if the Lakers could secure PG before FA starts, that would boost their chances...

I think you could get away with playing Hayward at the 2 often.
