Ben Mclemore

Post#1 » by Dloading99 » Thu Jun 29, 2017 9:05 pm

Ben Mclemore. I think he would be a perfect signing. he just became an unrestricted free agent. I think we should sign him right away. a 1 year deal prove it deal. 4 million. not have it be anything on the cap.

He can come in prove he should get a big contract. He can still play he's had big games. he shows he can shoot the ball. he has an ability to score. athletic plays defense. and Russell we had a streaky shooter. bring another streaky shooter in who has the ability to have big games. former lottery pick. and playing in Luke Waltons offense the perfect player we need. catch and shoot ray allen type of player who will come off of screens. with a point guard like Lonzo he's the perfect guard we need to play next to him. he can get to his spots and spot up when Lonzo penetrates and finds him.

Pelinka said we need shooting. I think this guy is perfect with what we need to sign at a cheap price. a player that can space the floor. very athletic makes free throws. instead of giving more money to a Dion Waiters or JJ redick. sign this guy who gives you the same skillset at a very cheap price.

And if Lonzo can make other players better maybe he can make this guy a star.

Sign this guy to a one year deal, same with JJ Reddick.

Yep totally agree with you Spanish_ Laker. I think he would be perfect in our system. up tempo catch and shoot player. like a Klay. now he's not Klay but the kind of player that is more of a get to his spot and look for his shot.

yeah agree. sign him, we need a S.G and he is a good 3pt shooter. Supposedly a gym rat and you know how we love that. He needs to improve defensively (as in, it needs to actually exist), other than that he would be a perfect fit.

I'm ok with Ben for one year, the price really doesn't matter. But JJ isn't coming here on a one year deal. He's getting older and he's looking for that last big multi year contract. He'll probably at least get 4/50 million.

Guess who his agent is Rich Paul. enough said. lol. sign this guy.

in 19 minutes he averaged 8 points shot 43% from the field 38% from three that's pretty good.

I think the situation he was in in Sac was pretty bad. I mean from his perspective they bring in Stauskuas and he was playing his minutes then they trade for Buddy Hield he kept having guards in front of him.

I think him knowing what we want from him here. being able to play would be great for him. Luke gets a lot out of his players. with Ball Ingram and Lopez that would really be good for him. and with a center like Lopez you need some shooters around him. I think we should call him right away and sign him.

I remember seeing this guys for a game against us. He was good. If he is really that kind of player I say one year deal is OK.

I like that he's young (24) and would fit our system. But how many minutes would we spend on someone who looks and smells like a bust?

Every minute he's on the court is less time for our prospects.
I don't think he has much value around the league, it's unlikely he'll become an asset.

I think we're better off filling the 2 guard spot, with a proven veteran who can respectfully push JC to Sixth man duties or a backup PG and let JC start for this year and raise his value a bit.

Picking up an unproven wing prospect isn't the worst scenario, but we can do better.

I wanted the lakers to buy low on him for a while.

A one year flier sounds perfect.
The guy was a super high pick. Had obvious talent, but how many guys fufil their potential in sac-town?
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

How dire is our situation that we're trying to talk ourselves into gd Ben McLemore? Good Lord.

Kicking the tires on a still fairly young talent isn't the most wild idea anyone has ever had. And this team needs guards who can shoot, so it would be a decent gamble. If he sucks a la Wes Johnson (who actually wasn't that bad...), then no harm has been done.

Trying to fake the funk acting like a playoff team is how we got into this spot in the first place

We are in a terrible position since Magic already said we won't be players for the top end guys this year. That leaves 3rd tier guys like this who we can target since we are keeping 2018 cap space available. So they have to throw huge chunks of money for single year deals most likely.
