Lakers Rotation

What do you think the rotation will look like?

(Should be common sense but in case you don't know each position needs to be allocated 48 minutes.)

Minutes are the purest form of currency to players and I'm interested to see how Laker Nation views how our minutes should be distributed this year.

ROTATION
C: Brook (24)- Zu (14)- Julius (6)- Nance (4)

PF: Julius (26)- Nance (14)- Deng (4)- Kuzma (4)

SF: Deng (12)- Ingram (22)- Kuzma (8)- Brewer (6)

SG: Ingram (12)- Clarkson (16)- Hart (14)- Nwaba (6)

PG: Lonzo (32)- Clarkson (12)- Ennis(4)

MPG
Ingram - (34) Randle - (32) Lonzo - (32)
Clarkson - (28) Brook - (24)
Nance - (18) Deng - (16)
Zu - (14) Hart - (14) - Kuzma - (12)
Brewer - (6) Nwaba - (6) Ennis - (4)

So far, this is how I see the minutes being distributed this season. I truly believe Deng will start for the sole purpose of attempting to re-establishing his value, to make it easier to move him. Hopefully he's been working this offseason and can at least be relied upon to hit an open corner 3.

Ingram (30) - Deng (18)
Brewer (34) - Nwaba (8) - Hart (6)

Come on Slava, no way does Brewer get 34 minutes. More like 12 minutes max but prefer 8 minutes. Clarkson should get the most minutes after Ball as a combo guard position but that might be to showcase him to eventually sell before the summer of 2018.

I expect more minutes from Kuzma and Hart this season. We should also add a guard to the rotation during FA signing period.

You should probably wait until after free agency for this thread. But yeah if Brewer is a starter, this team is screwed. Even Deng at Sf, and Ingram at Sg we're screwed. We need more shooters.

With Brewers ability to leak out in transition I'd want him playing every minute that Ball is on the floor.

I know it goes against all trends, but could Zubac play PF w/ Lopez at center?

Deng should start we need to show he can still play after a year of rest because of the process.

It would help his trade value.

I want to win as many games as possible! Celtics have our pick. We need to get it out of the top 10!!!

I pray that some of our guys at least shoot a decent 30-33% 3pter. Holy smokes we're bad. I don't think a single player on the roster, maybe Lopez at best, commands "gravity" with their 3pter. I really suspect teams will pack the paint with us.

Designations aside, I think they could coexist in a unit for short periods of time. I don't think they could be put in that situation all the time as a typical structure however.

Zubac showed really good for a kid his age and size. If he takes a nice step this year he could be our longer term solution at the 5. He fits better with Ball's ability to get in the paint and create havoc than he did with Russell's predominately outside game.

You could see Lopez moved at the deadline to a contender for picks and Zu be the starting center if the stars align.

I want Clarkson in there for the same reason. I can see at times having Ball, Clarkson, Brewer on the floor at the same time, not always, but sometimes:) clarkson going to be a beast this year:) just hope his improved on his 3's more then anything

That won't work with Luke's offense predicated on ball movement and fast athletic guys really Ning and gunning.
Lopez and Zu are two bugs that would really slow the offense down.
If anything, they should be in there separately running the pick and roll with Lonzo and Ingram.

No way Brewer gets more minutes than Clarkson
No way Brewer gets more minutes than Zubac
No way Brewer gets more minutes than Nance

He shouldn't even get on the court honestly. He should be serving Gatorade. Why give minutes to someone with no trade value and who won't be on the team next year?

He is one of the few ones who can create for himself....when you desperately need a basket with russell and young gone..
...Don't know the irrational hate of some people here  ...Players are seldom perfect...It is the work of Luke to make the most of what players he have...

The flip side of that coin is that he does nothing but that.

Clarkson is one of the worst defenders in the league according to RPM, and def one of the people more prone to hold-the-ball in this system and team that the FO wants to :move-the-ball". He can create for himself though, I'll give him that.

I will agree with people that are saying Brewer should be getting less minutes. I just left it like this since we sill haven't even seen how the rookies come out. If Hart comes out looking good, I can def see him getting more minutes.

As much as it hurts me to say, I can even agree with people that Jordan should be getting more minutes that Brewer. SG is one of the more up-in-the air positions as of now (but think Hart will have edge if he looks good).

Truth be told, I'd rather have JC in this team right now. Some people hate on him but they fail to see what JC had gone through. It's not easy to change and adapt to roles every season. We saw what he can do before he needs to adapt to role changes because of the coming of new players who are supposed to be the "face of the franchise". Did he ever complain? NO... and that is one thing I like about him. He is professional and willing to accept and embrace the role that he is assigned to.

Now with DLo and Young gone and with no other proven SG on this team I can't understand the hate on JC and still want him gone on this team. Yes Hart is a good prospect but I believe he should still earn his minutes for that starting SG spot. As of this moment JC should start. Haters could say what they want but for the past few years with our young guys JC is the one that I can say who has the "credentials". Making it to the all rookie first team despite being a 2nd rounder.

At the end of the season JC and Zubac can play the PnR. I trust he can paly it too with BLo if he gets that starting spot. And with Ball in the team I strongly believe he will make the game easier for JC.

If the changing of roles is something the team valued highly then they wouldn't have traded D'Lo who is better at either role than JC.

Truth be told, I have been down on Clarkson since the start of last season. So his role-changing last season didn't mean much to me. I didn't think he could be a starting PG when we saw him as a rookie and last season didn't change that for me. His best role is as 6th man for a team that wants a scoring guard.

Maybe Ball can make JC look better? idk , but it would be mostly on fastbreaks and them using their speed. JC is good at curling off screens and I can see Ball finding him nicely there. But to me JC isn't the move-the-ball type player the team is trying to harbor. He is also inconsistent from shooting but if he gets that down this season, then I can't complain about that. He just takes too many dribbles trying to find an opening sometimes and I see him hold the ball too much at times on things like 3-on-1 fastbreaks.

It's borderline irrational at this point. Clarkson is a valuable player. The lack of ball movement stuff was mostly because of his role. Playing on that second unit there were not scorers other than he and Williams. Hard to get assists when no one else can shoot.

His speed and ability to finish in the lane with Ball's ability to push the ball seems like his best fit yet at this level. I think he could surprise.
