JC a goner? no i wouldnt think so. still need someone to score off the bench.
this would be a great move for many, many reasons. hill has other suitors out there, some with bigger playoff potential than us (currently), so its interesting to see what he actually does.

Oh wow, if this happens Rob/Magic just hit a HR. George Hill on a 1 yr deal is crazy. Defensive stallworth, good offense, exceptional leader. Please let it happen!!

Can't think of a more perfect mentor for Josh Hart to look up to.

Anyone know how much we can offer him? I'm wondering if we're going to be outbid by another team.

He's so injury prone he's really the last guy that should take a 1 year deal. But here's to hoping!

Isn't Hill a Point Guard?... I don't think he plays much SG. Could be here to mentor Ball.
Talking about how bad Julius Randle is:

He turned down a 4/$80 extension from Jazz.
Pretty sure are $17mil won't be enough for a 1 year. But I hope it is

There's like a zero percent chance Hill would be coming here just to mentor Ball and play backup. His traditional position is point guard, but his skillset would easily allow him to play the 2, and he'd be by far our best option there.

Right now our roster takes up $72.7 million cap with 9 players signed. I think we can offer him a 1 year $20 million contract which will allow him to re-test the market next year or resign with us and PG if we miss on a second MAX guy.
This would be an unbelieveable coup for Magic and Pelinka. Danny Ainge would be very annoyed if this happened which would make it very possible.
Hill would be perfect with Lonzo and Hart. Hill/Lonzo can play both PG and SG position and Hill gives us defense, leadership and 40% shooting from 3 point range. We can also add another vet minimum to the roster and call it a summer.

Re: George Hill discussing 1 yr deal with Lakers
shot 40% from 3 last year and is a plus defender. Friends with PG, so that makes sense. Next year we can keep him as a resigning without losing our ability to sign other FA. Make it so Rob!
