Players I think are gonna be under contract

Ball/
Pope/Clarkson/hart
Ingram/brewer
Randle/nance/deng/kuzma
Lopez/Bryant/Zubac

That is 13 already
Nwada is looking like he should stick around. And the lakers still need a backup point guard and a defensive big.

I expect randles rebounding numbers to go up a bit playing next to Lopez. There is a real laker of interior defense. Who is the lakers best big defender?

Lots of young guys. Don't know how much we can expect from kuzma/Bryant/zubac/hart. And we are already banking on a rookie pg and a 2nd year super young sf to be our 2 best players.

Brewer/deng/Lopez are going to being the veteran presence, but they could really use a bench pg veteran leader that can help ease ball into the league.

What is the next move here?

why would we need a defensive big? lopez and zubac will share 48 minutes. cant even randle play c in walton's small-ball system?
and i agree we need a veteran pg. i am happy with rondo as long as he accepts 5M and back up of Lonzo Ball.
when it comes to salary dumb, it is hard to get rid of deng, we should also dump brewer, is he expiring this year, though?

I see the roster like this:

Lopez - Zubac - Bryant
Randle - Nance - Kuzma
Ingram - Deng
Pope - Brewer - Hart - Nwaba
Lonzo - Clarkson

I think we are close to complete here and a Rondo signing doesn't even make sense.

I think Randle will slide over and play a lot of back up center, as will Nance, opening up space for a lot of 3 guard line ups with Deng at PF.

I'm not too sure about Zubac. Looks like Zubac and Bryant will be battling for minutes. Kind of like Bryant more actually. More athletic, spreads the floor, and gets rebounds...what more could you want? Plus his last name is Bryant.

As for a backup PG I do not like Clarkson in that role. Would rather see Clarkson come off the bench for pope. I think Lakers need to think of taking a chance and maybe using Alex Caruso as possible backup PG. Any way to dump Brewer? Not sure what good he is on this team.

We still need insurances like Brewer and Nwaba who can fill in whenever someone sits out. and he's expiring this year anyways.

How many players are teams required to have under contract in the new CBA?

A lopez/zubac rotation at center might be the worst defensive situation in the NBA this season.

Ball-Clarkson*-Caruso
Pope--Hart-Nwaba**
Ingram-Deng-Brewer
Randle-Nance-Kuzma
Lopez-Zubac-Bryant

*If they find a good trade for Clarkson that doesn't bring back another player, then put Rondo in Clarkson's spot.

**Assumes Nwaba clears waivers and resigns.

Well since the Nets were better defensively with Lopez on the court than off, I am guessing at least they will be worse, and also that you are like almost the entire world, overstating Lopez' defensive weakness. He is certainly not great, but he isn't quite that bad.

How on earth do you have Bryant ahead of Zubac??????
