-Sign Rondo for 4.3 exception
Rondo replaces Ennis and has some defensive skill left, about as good a shooter as Nwaba.

I would rather sign a chair than Rondo the team chemistry killer.

- opportunity to sign Bryant and Rondo
- Nwaba returns with a possibility of a two year deal

Doubt there's a possibility of a 2 year deal for Nwaba. Lakers are saving as much cap space as possible next year.

2 year minimum deals are always with 2nd year team options.

I don't get how this can be connected to signing Bryant though. We don't really need to clear space to sign Bryant. Aren't second rounders normally just signed to the rookie minimum? No cap holds until they are signed?

Did this move also help signing Hart, Kuzma, & Bryant?

Terrible move. Why release a guy who always plays tough D and is such a cheap contract?

Probably something to do with getting a better player at his position. Also, maybe the fact that we drafted a rookie at the same position who can hopefully provide similar production defensively. If those two don't cut it, then it might have something to do with him being the worst shooter on the team. Take your pick, we'll be fine without him.

I enjoy Nwaba's game. He's not your usual 3&D specialist, rather a D&D (defend and dunk). Amazing how much dunks he gets per game just by moving and cutting efficiently off ball.
