If the idea is to get Lebron next year why would you trade for Irving who wants no part of Lebron?

I wouldn't trade Lonzo for Irving anyways. he's a lot like D'Angelo in the sense that he needs a big brother like Lebron to light a fire amd bring the best out of him.

I thought this thread would be about how this adds to the likelihood that lebron leaves Cleveland, not about pursuing Irving. Why would the lakers even consider trading for a player that doesn't want to play with Lebron, much less give up Lonzo?

I think the question should be Ingram, Clarkson, and Deng for LeBron??

I know this is hard and we are impatient in LA, but there is no reason to trade for Irving or lebron when we have to give up ball or Ingram.

They can come here next year if they want.

We aren't going to win this year regardless.

It's the paul George thing all over again, and I realize lebron is the best player in the league, but you got to think big picture, salary cap, rivals, contracts, etc

And it is much much better to take the gamble and wait until 2018

0 value + 0 value + 0 value - 10 value = Lebron value?

we'd have to add Deng, and likely Clarkson just to math Lebrons salary. That in itself makes the trade worth it. We still have NO CLUE what Ingram will turn out to be.

Did Lebron possibly inform him that he would be leaving next season for us??

If I'm Irving, that would be enough for me to want out all of a sudden. He probably had a talk with Lebron about how he (Lebron) felt about the front office not having a GM, and the poor off-season moves so far as reported.

Randle (since we have Kuzma, and because he's due an extension) instead of Ingram and I'm down 100%.

If you trade for Lebron it would take at least Ball or Ingram then you have to add to it.

Give me 2 realistic starting rosters for the 2018 year.

One roster if we trade for lebron now and the other if we wait to sign during the 2018 free agency period.

Keep salary cap rules in mind and you tell me which roster is better.

I do believe is risk, just needs to be a calculated one.

Has to be Ingram, not Randle. CLE has to get back a high value asset in order to trade the best player in the history of their franchise.

Irving said he wants to be the focal point of a team. If he knew LeBron was leaving, wouldn't he just stay in Cleveland?

I agree that they want value, but they're in no position to be making any demands. I'm low-balling them with my offer if I'm GM because they will most likely lose him for nothing after this season. They have their backs against the wall just like Indiana and the PG situation and look at their return. We have money to sign him out-right next summer, so we have all the leverage.

You see what I'm saying? Randle is at least a prospect they can get. I believe that's a good starting offer. If they play the waiting game, I add Nance too, but that's it.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't think you are being realistic or really have an understanding on what the salary cap is or what it takes to trade for player. I mean is that your roster if we trade for Lebron? How is that even possible?
