Lavar Ball

Post#1 » by Dloading99 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:55 pm

What's your all your take on the Lavar Ball referee thing in Vegas with Adidas.

Basically Lavar Ball had a female referee removed from the game when he got ejected after saying he would take his team off of the court. and he said she needs to stay in her Lane and other things basically saying the ref wasn't ready or advanced to ref the AAU games.

Does he need to zip it and realize his son is in the NBA for the Lakers the team he wanted him to go to. or should he just keep being flagrant and going at the refs?

My opinion is I've been a Lavar Ball guy. and I laughed at the comedy and the baphonery like the WWF appearance which I thought was classic. and he was just one of those characters who got me hyped up. he still gets me hyped. I just don't agree with him going at this female ref. she's not making that much money it's an AAU game and I think he should calm it down. he can still have the antics. do a dance as he gets ejected whatever throw a tirade. :banghead: but when you start messing with peoples jobs it's a bit much. I think he could've said the call was a bad call and she was horrible with the call. what was she watching? but the other stuff is out of bounds.

I think there are great female refs. and I think there are great male refs. and there are male refs that suck.

We got away from the other Stay in Yo Lane thing and now it's back and we see the ESPN's back on this.

Will Lonzo Ball be asked about this stuff? and will Laker reporters be asking about this stuff?

it was just interesting cause Lavar was quiet. and then this AAU week he went in again. Coach Lavar likes the primetime. and maybe it's more to promote Big Baller Brand. but now that Lonzo is on the team. are we going to continue to see this stuff? and what's yalls take on the whole referee thing?

Lavar needs to learn to stay in his own damn lane sometimes. This is not a good look for him or his brand. If it keeps up, it won't be a good look for his kids either.

I 95% of the time think Lavar is funny... I mean, it's pretty obvious who Lavar is. If you can't place him.. He's the same old cat that you see chopping it up on the bball courts at the park.. which is the same old cat loitering in the barber shop... It's just white media and especially Disney's ESPN is too PC to overlook stuff he says: stay in yo Lane, whopping his kids etc. I didn't have a problem with the Kristy Leahy stuff tho -- she was too quick to play the woman's victim card..

With this AAU stuff tho, I think Lavar is just really feeling himself right now.. especially now he knows he finally has some clout... so he's throwing tantrums when stuff doesn't go his way.. I'm honestly more bothered that he made his team walk out of two games because of the refs.. I think that's more of a bitch move then any comments he made bout the female refs.. tho the PC media is going to crucify him.. He's just being really extra right now and needs to chill..

He's cancer. Anyone who claims he's doing these things for his son is being delusional. The guy seeks attention for himself foremost and he has the platform to get it. It is that simple.

That stuff has happened all the time in travel ball, LaVar isn't the first to have a ref moved off a game or got into it with one. I saw it all the time during my coaching days of travel ball.

That's the only thing he's done that is questionable? Besides, it's not exactly the same level of spotlight, is it? There is no defending this guy, not with the repetitive sort of behavior he's displaying constantly.

People keep pointing out the fact he didn't get himself involved with the UCLA program? Ok, fine. But UCLA also won 90% of their games, and when they finally got eliminated, what did Lavar do? He started to blame the white guys on the team.... The guy cannot help himself.

Whatever Lavar does doesn't impact Lonzo. So he can do whatever he wants.

I saw this coming and I knew what ESPN was going to do the minute I saw it on Sportscenter. and I knew the anchors were going to have a field day.

Lavar sometimes doesn't know that he's being played when those interviews are given to him. they are waiting for the Crazy statement and he gives it to them all the time. All he had to do was say the Reffing sucked horrible refs. it's AAU let the kids play.

but he goes the other way and sees this as an opportunity to say something controversial. and I know what he's doing he's trying to get some great buzz for big baller brand. but if he's going to be a bad ass company that's a whole other thing from sports brand company so he's gotta figure that out. for brand sometimes this stuff isn't a good look.

Then the whole she better Stay in her lane it just looks so flagrant like look at me. the dude made shirts off of Stay in Yo Lane so that's his slogan now. I guess that's his just do it.

But hey he's saleing gear.

I've been to AAU games I saw Shabbaz Muhomad play on the team with Winston Sheppard a dude that was supposed to be real good went to San Diego State. I talked to coaches so this is a scene where basically coaches go they want to smooshz with the AAU guys and the middle men. those middle men are the Lavar Balls they have power

So if you want to get to a big time recruit you gotta talk to Lavar Ball cause his kid is friends with the kid you are trying to recruit. Basically the dad who is taking every body for pizza after the game can get you a recruit that can make you millions and that guy is Lavar Ball cause all the kids are friends with Lamelo. and now that big bro Lonzo is on the Lakers in the NBA all those kids want to be there so they are with Lamelo the cool kid who has the cool dad. so coaches see him as a power broker shoe companies see him as a power broker and he has the his ego being stroked by addidas so he thinks he can now get coaches removed like he did.

And we all know why he did it. it's a power play we know why addidas reacted like that because Lavar can deliver them Lonzo and that can make the companie Millions. Star on the Lakers glamour team in L.A. last time they had a stud La Laker rookie was some kid named Kobe Bryant. they also have Ingram so having Lonzo and Ingram would be big bucks. they know what Lavar means to them. and Lavar can make some money getting a piece of that adidas deal. so Lavar can easily go over to Nike or Reebok. adidas knows that and knows where their bread is buttered.

Lavar is going to Lavar he's in the click. Lebron has Maverick Carter. Lonzo's Maverick is Lavar Lavar just likes playing that spotlight and he likes being a star. it's L.A. he's a L.A. guy. Magic might tell him hey you can be you but sometimes you gotta just chill. But how Lonzo is playing I don't see that conversation happening. only one who can have that conversation with pops is Lonzo.

Lavar can be Lavar but just let the Female refs ref. They do it out of a general passion for basketball. She is a college ref to. they are combining those salaries. so that money is a lot to her. he should take that into consideration. he's a millionaire. be a little more respectful to the female.

Hey Lavar Ice CUBE Voice THATS A FEMALE.

STAY IN YO LANE. manage the Big Baller Brand don't tell refs how to do their jobs. act a fool clown around. be funny for the fans. that's what they like about Big Baller. but keep it with the Fun.

DEEP mad respect big homey for the knowledge as a coach. great insight. you see the Lavars all the time at AAU it's hilarious.

AS for Lavar

Yeah the thing with having his team quit. isn't a good coaching move. you teach AAU kids to pout if they don't get their way. and he had an opportunity to show a very good teaching moment. the little things would make him a great coach. it's not always about taking your ball and pouting.

very good points about the team storming off the court. basketball is about teamwork and teaching it's up to Lavar to tell these kids what to expect in college. and you would think he could tell them a lot based on how his son has been so successful.

keep those kids on the court let the refs ref.

As a former AAU coach for over 20 years.... none of me thinks he funny one bit. Helicopter Dad with $$$ in his eyes. Boy have I seen that before.

He's more of a threat to his sons success than his jump shot IMHO. There is a nasty separation between him and his son's finances coming in the future is my guess. He truly reminds me of a professional wrestling "manager" in a wild suit stalking the ring and yapping at the nearest camera... He could make me watch games with the sound off.

Yeah I think it should be up.

it's not a good idea to beef with Refs when your son is going to be in a league with refs.

That ref fraternity is big and there might be some refs who ref the Lakers and when Lonzo gets that slap to the face there might be a whistled swallowed. or maybe some fouls are called on Lonzo when he tries to get the ball.

Just saying not that smart. if anything players try to be nice to refs. and there are going to be refs who know the grind of coming up through the ranks to ref in the NBA and there are probably some refs who reffed aau and might take that out on Lonzo.

Lavar doesn't have to play for the Lakers Lonzo does Lavar needs to start thinking about that. it's dumb cause Lonzo is the coolest guy and people act like when lonzo is on the court they are playing against Lavar.

and I hope players don't have to answer these Lavar questions about the ref. :noway: it's like Lavar saw how everybody was talking about Lonzo and how great he was playing and he decided let me LAVAR it up and Go LAVAR time for some stay in yo lane.

He can do what ever he wants... Just as long as he shuts up during lakers games and even training ... Say what he wants through media etc... Just as long as his son puts up the numbers each night, i'll be ok with it.

If not ...
