We'll crush the Clips opening night... But by christmas, I see Ball starting to feel the effects of the long NBA season and I bet we're struggling a bit by then. So I'm going to say the Wolves wreck us on Christmas Day.

When was the last time we had a good Xmas game?

by what would jack bauer do?
With them reducing the 4 games in 5 nights and extending the season by almost 2 weeks and also with that week long break post all star weekend I see the struggle of the NBA schedule on the body being diminished for the skinny dudes (Ingram, porzingis, etc) and for the veterans. Also, I think the rookie wall may not hit as hard.

Players will be playing their hardest and at the same time they'll have time to recover. In the case of rookies they'll get faster and stronger without the dystrophy of their bodies. In the case of the veterans, they'll maintain what health they have a little better. Advantage may be to the younger guys because they'll possibly get faster and stronger as the season goes on. On nights where you play the warriors or cavs, teams will go for the throat and they'll put all their well rested energy into it.

This past year we won on Christmas. Beat the Clippers.

Can someone please explain to me how/why the NBA season is starting almost 2 weeks in advance? Will it end earlier too?
When does preseason start?
Thanks

the NBA made a conscious decision to minimise in-season injuries by reducing the number of 4 games in 5 nights situations to zero

hence the earlier start dates
