To me all this proves is that PG13 was/still hell bent on joining the lakers and the pacers are still in their feelings.

Sour grapes by Pacers IMO -- and further proves that the only reason KP took that terrible deal from OKC instead of what Lakers offered was out of spite...
Newsflash... If you have a star player but fail to build around him or even get him some decent help in FA.. of course that star is going to want to eventually leave. Lance Stwphensen and Monta Ellis were probably the best FA signings Indy ever pulled off.. terrible..
Now trying to pursue tampering chargers after the fact is just crying over spilled milk...

The Pacers and the NBA must understand that PG13 left Indiana for basketball reasons. And, because, Indiana.
Magic must understand, for basketball reasons, that he can't run his mouth like before, now as president of the Lakers.
PG13 and RW must understand that at least one of them should take talents to LA next summer. For basketball reasons.

This is hilarious.
Unless Magic and Pelinka are stupid enough to have evidence somewhere, and they shouldn't because Pelinka knows all the tricks of the trade, pacers are only making themselves look like idiots

Pacers fans should file tampering charges against Pritchard for accepting that poo platter.

Interesting. Teams don't file these things without proof, not too surprised Magic has said things a couple times that make you think isn't that tampering

Pretty much. You can thank Magic if that happens.

Woj insinuated in his article that at present there is no evidence.

Lakers expect to be cleared.
It's definitely both. There's no question the Lakers have tampered. Now, whether they're dumb enough to leave evidence, is a legit question. When I think of Magic, I can't help but think that it's certainly a possibility he did leave evidence.
File this under the "would never happen under Mitch" category.

That, fines, suspensions, not being able to sign or trade for Paul George, etc.

Magic has been fined for tampering before (talking about specific players on twitter)which is why they had to remove his official title a few years back.
So it would be a repeat offense for him, wonder if that would be considered when determining the punishment if the team happens to be found guilty of tampering here.

In the original report they mention Joe Smith.
Not sure they want to go that far and not sure how much of an issue Silver is willing to make of it. The fact he hired an independent investigator and got lawyers involved tells me it's serious.

Sure if you are getting your legal opinion from the armchair law blog.
NBA hired an outside counsel because they cannot investigate one of their teams against the other. It's a clear conflict of interest.
It doesn't suggest anything.

That is an excellent point.
I was looking at it from the perspective that often that when the league disciplines their players they only hire outside council in the most extreme circumstances but for owners it would be a clear conflict of interest.

But historically "proof" has been nothing more than a comment by a high up exec. All they have on Magic is a damn wink.

Secondly people have to throw out the suggestion that they "tampered for sure", what proof is there besides Magic winking on TV while being asked questions by Kimmel ? Unless the Pacers have emails, text and recorded conversations between Mintz, Pelinka and Magic then this investigation is going to end up empty.
Pelinka being a lawyer himself would've went to Magic and told him personally to chill with the PG talk, and my gut is that conversation happened at some point because Magic wasn't mentioning the free agent stuff after the Kimmel show.
This is Pritchard trying to save his job, because we all know that was one of the crappiest trades in a long time. Indy took on more money and marginal players at best. I even saw a comment on the GB that said Oladipo was better than Clarkson...their careers have been on the same trajectory numbers wise, but JC is an overall better basketball player than he is period.
I know this for sure thought....the Pacers are now on the hated list with the Celtics and Spurs. Congrats Pacers you've made an exclusive club.
