Kyrie/IT trade - Is Lebron more likely to leave?

So with Lebron being one of the prime targets of the Lakers free agency plans, how do you think this Kyrie trade affects the likelihood he leaves and possibly joins the Lakers?

LeBron is thinking, "One and done. They're gonna hate me around here..."

Doesn't change much. Cleveland is likely a little worse next year. Age is factoring now and LeBron's issue in Cleveland isn't with competition but with Gilbert. Also hip issues are never a good sign.

Don't know, but Clev got robbed, mugged and run over by the getaway car...

Boston has got some players now. Can they put it together. I was never a huge believer in Thomas. Great season statistically but does he truly make a team better? Kyrie is a better all around player IMHO.

this is why i hate dan gilbert's punk ass, he whined and moaned about the lakers cp3 trade and then he get's a great player, plus saves 30 million in luxury taxes. all the crybabies that were whining about the lakers are not saying anything about what the cavs just did.

The Cavs can put together a very nice core of players if they trade the Nets pick for an established star at the trade deadline. This trade may have saved the Cavs from losing Bron for nothing next year.

That Brooklyn pick is intriguing. They can likely flip that for an established player that will increase their current talent level.

Just realized the first two options are the same thing.

I don't think they had it in mind to flip it. I think trading for IT and the pick is Cleveland's way of staying contenders this year and start fresh next year when IT and LeBron go elsewhere. There isn't really anyone available they would trade the pick for anyways that would fit for them long term. The Cavs are really old right now.

Nothing here.

Lebron James is still going to the Lakers.

Michael Lucky great point I said it a in another post Lebron Jamees doesn't want to play for Dan Gilbert. I just don't think it's about Basketrball he just doesn't want to play for him.

Lebron James wants to go to the Lakers to eventually get minority ownership with the Lakers and then maybe get Majority Ownership with the Lakers and get a partner to come in with him.

Lebron James always does things big and I think him owning the Lakers would be a big thing. so the Lakers is Lebrons aspirations to be an owner.

as for the trade The Cavs got owned. how can you not get either Taytum or Brown. if anything they should've got both. for their former number one pick and second best player to not get any of those players young players on the Celtics. is just stupid.

Don't believe what you hear. They are not resiging Isiah Thomas they will not pay Isiah Thomas the Max. no way Gilbert pays that . when Lebron bounces he will rebuild and be the happiest man not having to pay those players.

Cleveland is done competing for Championships they'll play the Warriors and get swept but I don';t think they get past the Celtics. I just think everyone knows on that tteam Lebron is Laker bound in purple and Gold. even Magic will keep his mouth shut.

Luxury tax is going to be a big deal for Cleveland as they have to pay Isiah more and earlier than they would have with Kyrie. So any trade that prioritizes their short term will likely be rebuffed by Gilbert.

Cleveland absolutely robbed the Septics!

Crowder + IT + Zz whatever his name is would have been a fair trade. Crowder fills one of Cleveland's biggest needs. A solid 3 + D player. Throw in Brooklyn's unprotected draft pick and it becomes a heist for the Cavs. Brooklyn is awful and should be one of if not the worst team in the league and next year's draft class figures to be way above average.

Of course if IT's hip doesn't heal properly and Brooklyn somehow manages to win 40 games the trade looks terrible for the Cavaliers. Kyrie and LeBron were not going to play on the same team this year so given that Cleveland's hand was forced they did an outstanding job.

I agree that Cleveland robbed the Cs.

If Cleveland traded Kyrie for Crowder/IT/Zizic then I would think Cs won although somewhat half decent. Kyrie is a sure MAX guy while IT is a bit questionable as he has the heart but that height will always hold him back plus the hip and the 1 year left on his deal. Now, throw in that Brooklyn pick without anything else coming back and its a heist.

Boston should not have included Zizic (2016 1st round pick) and should have 1-2 picks coming back.

I don't think it matters. LeBron was going to ball out and give the Cleveland fans everything for this last season anyways and then see where a few things are at.

Now James stays. Hahaha C's you are effed now. Current Cavs still make finals knocking you out, then the either get a (some are saying) 'once in a generation' talent with #1 and continue to beast the east.

Thinking Cleveland will approach Lebron on a trade scenario to Lakers this year..
Deng
Randle
Clarkson
2020 pick

I think Cleveland, Lebron and Lakers would be ok with this as it opens up Cap space..

Lebron/Nance/Kuzma
Ingram/Lebron/Brewer
Lopez/Zubac/Bryant
Pope/Hart/Blue
Lonzo/Ennis/Caruso

Plus abou 60mil in cap space
George and Westbrook?

Cleveland has to be thinking rebuild right now...if there smart.

If Cleveland wants to trade with LA it will be for a package around Ingram or Ball.

The pick Cleveland just got could help them get a really nice piece to help that team.

LBJ is gone... I hate to say it, but I would be pissed too if my leader always bitched about the roster not being good enough... He does it every year... I would have built around Kyrie (25) over LBJ (34) if I was Gilbert... Cavs will be in full rebuild mode in 7 months...
