Any or all?

I have no doubts Paul George will be cheered when announced. The OKC game will be an event. Do you see Laker fans also cheering LeBron and/or Westbrook in anticipation of the 2018 free agency?

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

Cheering an opposing player is a something you don't do unless its a former Laker. Why cheer Westbrook? He would never fit here. He's about as ball dominant as they come and I doubt would work with Ball. If Ball's the guy for the next however long I don't see us bringing in an alpha point guard with a history of less than smart play in big games.

To George and Westbrook of course. LeBron.....would probably ignore him if he's on the team.

I agree with you on Westbrook, myself. Alot of folks think he'd be this amazing Laker. Damn good player...but I don't see the fit in the slightest. Lebron is a tricky one. Lebron (like Kobe) is pretty polarizing. On one hand, I think it's completely asinine to say one wouldn't root for the Lakers while we had Lebron......but I'll admit I feel that way about Carmello. Now....I think Lebron is much better, and more team-oriented than Melo....but the point stands.

I could see fans having a boo / cheer off when Lebron is in town.

If (IF) Lebron does come here....and if he has even 80% of the game he had last season, I think fans will be cheering him by the end of week one.

why would fans cheer opposing teams player? would you? unless they were former lakers who had impact on our team or etc.

we'll be cheering one of them if they become officially a laker that's for sure but until then NO we shouldn't.

There's no way in hell ill cheer for anyone facing the Lakers who is not wearing a lakers uniform. Paul George I kinda get but neither of the other two have stated they want to be lakers

Westbrook is an interesting target. Born and raised in LA area, went to UCLA. He has a massive extension on the table from OKC but hasnt signed. He did sign a major endorsement deal with Jordan/Nike. With money already in hand, he may feel like going home to a greater market, expanding his brand and joining a better up and coming team may be the better choice for him.

For the Lakers, Westbrook and George are younger and better aligned with the young Lakers timeline. They will have longer windows than if they went with LeBron. Westbrook is ball dominant but so is LeBron, albeit to a lesser extent. The fit with Ball isnt that much of a problem because like with LBJ and Ball, Ball can expand the floor and make plays without dribbling around for half the shot clock. And its not like Westbrook doesnt pass the ball, his triple double did include assists.

I dont think LeBron and Westbrook together would be as good a fit. That indeed would be one too many ball pounders. George stretches floor and can work off ball better than either guy. PG13 also can play and guard multiple positions. He's the glue to next years super lineup.

I would be happy with either LeBron/George or Westbrook/George next year.

Yea no way the Lakers want Westbrook when they've got ball already. I think ball will be the superior player very soon.

Westbrook is getting old, has a lot of mileage, and his game is predicated on athleticism. He's also choked half a million times in the playoffs and proven his heroball antics aren't good enough even on loaded teams. Plus his shooting isn't good enough to pair with LeBron.

LeBron/ball are the perfect pairing. Throw in pg13 and some shooters and role players and you've got a team that can actually compete with the Warriors.

Chris Paul makes infinitely more sense than Westbrook. He excels both on and off the ball and defends at the highest level.

Don't know why outsiders tend to think Laker fans are counting the chickens before they hatch. I mean I've been to a ton of Laker games and I can hardly remember if fans have ever cheer the opposing teams players.

To the OP's point..... I wonder if it's still important to know if they will stand for Westbrook? Anthony, Westbrook and George... gonna need a lot of balls in OKC.

No, because they are not on our team, and right now the chances of them coming here is 0% with Lebron, 0% with Westbrook, and 50/50 with Paul George. I thought Paul George was a shoe in until OKC made all those moves.
