With nance out, who is the new starting PF?

Post#1 » by TKainZero » Fri Nov 3, 2017 5:15 am

Nance is going to miss some time. He has played exceptionally well since he got the starting job.

Now someone has to step up

Who will it be?

Does Luke keep kuz/Randle in the 2nd unit and maybe insert deng?
Or do one of the young guys get the promotion?

All 3 options I feel are good options

Move Randle to starting pf, move Bogut to back up C.

I don’t think you want Randle and Bogut both clogging up the paint and keeping Kuzma on the bench makes it easier to keep him closing out games.

sorry but no

I like Randle but as pointed out b4 Randle and Nance are both energy/hustle players much better suited for the bench then starters

It is what it is. I bet if Randle starts a few games he won't be the same and everyone be bitching again

It has to be Kuz. No way around it. I've been screaming til I'm blue in the face that we need to start Kuz and now is the perfect opportunity. Our starters continue to get off to slow starts forcing our bench unit to have to claw our way back in. Kuz energy and most importantly his shooting will be HUGE in the starting line up. Will also free up more opportunities for Randle and Clarkson in the second unit.

Kyle Kuzma for me. He has chemistry with Lonzo, he kind of settles him down right now and helps him get comfortable out there. Randle having an even bigger role off the bench now with Kuzma getting promoted. I think Thomas Bryant needs to be backup center. I would love to see him and Randle out there together with Clarkson, Hart, and Brewer.

Love the idea of having TBryant run with the second unit as opposed to Bogut or Kuz. TBryant brings athleticism and energy that both just don't have in them. He also can spread the floor.

out there idea, but put deng in as the starting 4 if he's healthy.

Give him one last chance to show value at his best position at this stage, and more importantly, keep randle and kuzma where they've been showing some success.

Oh God no... . No no no.. the worst part about this? This is totally something Luke would do because he likes to religiously stick to his hockey lineup switches.

Kuzma should start.
The first unit can use his outside shooting and ability to space the floor.

Randle is best coming off the bench, Playing with Brewer, Hart, JC.

I voted Kuz but I wouldn't be surprised if Luke starts Deng. I think he overthinks it and tries to keep the second unit together.

With Kuz and B.Lopez starting, I am not sure there will be enough rebounding.

I would like to keep the 2nd unit together also, so I would have no problem with starting Deng for a few minutes but also giving Randle and Kuz more minutes from the ones Nance was using.

The game we just played against portland

Our best rebounding player was

Randle 6
Nance 5
Brewer 4

Everyone else with 3 or less rebounds

And you guys are worried about the rebounding if Kuzma starts ?

Missing Nance for 6-8 weeks is awful. He is such a valuable and smart role player. He is scrappy, fights for balls on the floor, sets great picks, has good chemistry with Lonzo... I'm really bummed about this injury.

The sooner we start Kuzma the better. The sooner we start Kuzma the sooner he'll hit the wal. Do we want him playing decent in the second half of the season or don't we care about the second half?

Actually the upside of Nance's injury is that it helps showcase Lopez and Randle.

I want to slow play Kuzma - he's confident and consistent already, we've got bigger problems (Deng, Lopez, Randle, Clarkson, KCP).

Deng all the way ... give him a couple weeks of burn to see if he's viable at all. In theory, likely our best 3-point shooting PF and defender, since Kuzma is rebounding like a small forward and isn't playing great D.
