Nick Van Exel's mother shot 4 times.

Post#1 » by dub81 » Thu Nov 9, 2017 6:25 am

I was doing some googling searching and came across this.

http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=20010721&slug=exel21

Before she died, Nick Van Exel's mother was shot 4 times and still survived. I now kind of know where my favorite Laker got his toughness from.

Also remember, his son got convicted of manslaughter.

Amazed and happy Nicky like Chick would call him is still doing well. Maybe he needs to talk to Lamar Odom?

"The woman was shot once in the face, twice in the chest and once in the leg, but her wounds were not life-threatening,"

Excerpt from the article,

I was expecting it to be four shots to legs and arms, etc. Quite a miracle she pulled through.

I was on jury duty and the victim was shot 7 times and lived, pretty crazy how good modern medicine is with healing gunshot wounds.

I remember thinking he sucked... But in retrospect, that was just because he was no Magic Johnson. I didn't realize that my whole concept of basketball revolved around Magic running the break.
Years later, I realize Nick was probably the second best Lakers PG in my lifetime. I kind of wish I appreciated him a little more when he was here.

That makes sense for sure. I feel you. He did well with what he had. Eddie Jones was also good for us.

In the regular season. He disappears in the playoffs. Isiah Rider use to bully him during the playoffs.

My fondest memory of Nick the Quick.

Reminds me of .4 Fisher. :D
