Lonzo Ball said that one of the pieces of advice Brian Shaw told him was that when he rebounds, his overall game is better. Lonzo took it to heart with his 16 rebounds tonight.

Lonzo Ball credited assistant coach Brian Shaw for urging him to hit the boards more aggressively. Both his father and the Lakers coaching staff want the same result for the point guard but have very different approaches.


"They're soft. They don't know how to coach my son. I know how to coach him," LaVar Ball said. "I tell him to go get the victory. Stop messing around."

Does he have a problem with coach Luke Walton?

"No, I have a problem with losing," Ball responded.

I"What I mean by babying [Lonzo], 'He'll figure it out,'" Ball said. "It ain't about that. 'Be patient with him?' Ain't no patience if you're winning."

"They're letting it go too easy, saying they're a young team," he continued. "Forget about that! Put the [onus] on them. Say, 'You guys need to win. You've got enough talent. Win some games.'"

LaVar is really good at that Kardashian ****. Getting famous for no **** reason.

Why does the media keep giving this guy room to speak? It must have gotten old a long time ago for most of the audience by now.

Honestly... I didn't get "Ball doesn't like the way Luke is Coaching" from any of that... What I got was "LonZo needs his ass kicked for losing"... And that we're coddling him.
They were trying to corner him into saying something worse, but he tried to keep it light and make a joke about it. I don't see anything at all here to be even a little interested in, tbh.

Can we ban any Lavar Ball talk?

At any rate, that was an interesting tidbit about Shaw imploring him to hit the glass. Lonzo isn't capable of impacting the game positively right now as a shooter/scorer. But he can be aggressive on the boards, and go get the ball himself so he can push tempo and make things happen in that facet of the game. In addition to what he brings on D, which has been a very pleasant surprise.

Good call by Shaw if that's true. Zo looked comfortable and in a rhythm whenever he grabbed a board that night.

Put him in a Chinese prison. That'll toughen him up!!

The guy just couldn't stay away
