When is Lonzo coming back?

We need him.

The lakers need him in so many ways... including interest-wise. People buy tickets to see the dude play. Who else can you say that about other than kuzma rn?

A few more wins, but at least with Lonzo no team was capable of blowing them out or dropping 120+ points.

Lakers’ Lonzo Ball, Brook Lopez cleared for practice, return soon

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball and center Brook Lopez have been cleared to return to practice after recent injury absences.
Ball and Lopez are both questionable for the Lakers’ next game against Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Ball has been out with a sprained left shoulder since Dec. 23, missing five consecutive games. The rookie No. 2 overall draft pick is averaging 10.0 points, 7.1 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game.
Lopez has missed eight games since spraining his right ankle Dec. 18. The veteran big man is averaging 12.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in his first season with Los Angeles.
The Lakers (11-25) have lost seven straight games to fall back into last place in the Western Conference standings.

Ha, I see what you did there. There is no water there anymore...

Seriously though, he does have a very rare eye (generational talent) for the game, can set a bucket up with one "simple" pass and no effort.

But we need his defense. That's where we're hurting the most while he's out.

They're all better when Lonzo is in the lineup. He's been carrying a bunch of scrubs all season. Hopefully we can surround him with some real talent soon.

Yeah, I was wrong about Lonzo, he has been the third best player on the Lakers and his defense has been great. But do you think he will be enough to save a sunk ship like the current Lakers?

3rd best Laker?

Name the 2 players who have been better than Lonzo this year? IMO he's clearly the best Laker this season. The rest of the team is basically just a bunch of overrated iso chuckers who can't accomplish anything by themselves without Lonzo there to push the pace and get them the ball in the right spots.

This stretch of games should make it abundantly clear that Lonzo is far and away the best player on this team.

Lonzo has the biggest IMPACT on the team... He gets dimes, boards, blocks, steals & most importantly, sets the table for his teammates... Have any of you ever payed with a great PG, they make your life allot easier and change the game... Lonzo is a game changer...

Randle has been better than Lonzo pretty much all season... Lonzo may have the better age and potential, but Randle has been statistically better and more important to the team than Lonzo...
The numbers have been posted numerous times, it's not even up for debate... Lonzo is a rookie and will clearly be better long term, but this is a fact of this season.
That said, I have no problem calling Lonzo the most important starter, or the key to the offense, or 2nd most important all around or whatever... He's been great for us especially his defense.

That said, I think Lonzo if you think Lonzo being healthy last hight would have brought us a win, you're a little delusional... Maybe against Houston.
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

Lonzo has one significant NBA top level talent. It's a very important one but it's still just one. To maximize it we need a system and a team to support it. Here is the issue IMHO. The GS style of offense isn't it. He's not valuable without the ball in his hands nor is he valuable in isolation or as a spot up shooter. Granted he can get better at those areas of the game but he's not going to be better than others we have on the team for long time if ever.

Crazy as this sounds it's similar to Magic. Magic couldn't shoot further than 10 feet away from the hoop when he came in. He put up great rookie numbers and we won the chip but his value in certain situations in important games was minimal (half court especially). The difference in those teams and now is that he had an all time great and a couple other great players. Another difference however was the observation by the coach that he excelled in a unique aspect of the game and the offense under Westhead and Riley.... the fast break. It wasn't like we plugged him into a fast breaking team and he made it better.... we changed how we played to play to his strengths. Sure is alienated Kareem for a while but those coaches were able to address Magic's weaknesses (half court value on offense) with Kareem's strengths (half court dominance in the post) and poof!.... 5 championships in 9 appearances.

Not saying that Ball will have that sort of impact however I do think we need to re-think the whole pass-pass-pass-pass-pass until we his some arbitrary number of passes offensive system. He's better and we're better when he has the ball. When he doesn't his value drops off significantly as does that of several players who cannot create offense for themselves easily.
