Lakers need a backup pg and it's not even funny

Post#1 » by TKainZero » Wed Jan 17, 2018 4:35 am

When lonzo is out, the team has no one that is even close to adequate on the court at pg

Clarkson is fine for 12 mins a game. But he lakers need a floor general out there who can direct the offense when lonzo isn't there. When lonzo missed a game, the lakers have no chance. Ennis is garbage. Caruso isn't anything. At least they took a swing with Payton (but he sucks)

This team left 10+ wins on the table by not having a legit veteran backup pg who can get lonzos head right when he is a funk and do fill in starting stretches.

This needs to be salvaged asap! Basically we need to get a vet. Somehow.

What is the market for vet pg?
Free agents or trade market
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Elfrid Payton. Magic needs to be on the phone ASAP asking Orlando what they’re looking for for him.

Unless Orlando just ask for a hug, I wouldn't give up any asset for him.

Still haven't seen him developping any significant perk and he can't shoot from deep.

Our current backup PGs: Caruso, GP II, and Ennis, have no business being on an NBA roster. I also don't want the corpse of Deron Williams around. We just need someone who can be a competent backup, and that's Payton. Now, if Orlando starts talking about a first, or absorbing a crappy contract for him, then they can kick rocks.

I'd love to put together a trade package for Tyus Jones.

Then we have to trade Clarkson then because we have a few needs and the fa market won't cut it.

DJ Agustin may be available too, if we're talking about Magic point guards. Shelvin Mack would also be someone I would be looking at.

I'd be down with Ramon as backup PG over any of these other 3 guys TBH. He can help with our FT's too 8D, that dude gets to the line so much.

As much as we all hate Tyler Ennis he's probably better than Ramon Sessions and Kendall Marshall at this point. The 2012 Sessions is long dead. He probably shouldn't be in the NBA anymore.
