I can guess the response to this report, but we might as well have a thread for it...
Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka were hired to run the front office of the Los Angeles Lakers approximately one year ago and while they have remained steadfast in their plan to maximize their 2018 cap space, the team has yet to show a real improvement.
There also may be issues between Johnson, who has the final say on the roster, and Pelinka, who is running the day-to-day operations.
"I have been told by multiple sources that Magic Johnson is doing that job the way that I thought Magic Johnson was going to do that job," said Dan Le Batard "Sort of whisking in and out of the office. ‘Yeah fire everyone. Trade everyone. You’re doing a bad job. I’m going to run my movie empire.’ Is he still doing that? The details, the specifics of the doing of that job. Magic Johnson has been given all of the power and isn’t doing any of the work that usually gets done. He’s doing the job the way Phil Jackson did the job.

Sounds like BS to me. Some folks just hope the lakers have internal strife all the time. Must hurt the haters feelings to see the lakers not in the news for internal strife all the time now

I don’t buy it cause it’s not a reliable source, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it was true and would be inclined to believe it if it came from someone like Woj/Lowe/Stein/Amick.
Fits in with Magic’s perception of how easy it should’ve been to get free agents throughout the years.

lol ok Dan Le Batard is a radio host who has a penchant for making joke statements that people take way too seriously. I don't think this is a report of any kind.
This is whoever runs RealGM running out of material and writing a terrible short piece.

It's not a joke. Le Batard has been adamant since the beginning that Magic didn't deserve to be in this position and that he'd be terrible at it. It's more him seeking confirmation of this and trying to prove to everyone he was right. There's major confirmation bias involved on his part here.

It may not be a joke per-se but he's not out here doing investigative journalism and deducing that theres a rift in the front office.

The article is unbearably cringe worthy.

Yeah... Honestly the public statements from Pelinka and Magic have all been terrible starting with at least the KCP pressor.

seeing how they give compliments to each other all the time and how they would portray themselves as being really close, i dont buy this at all.

Read the Ding piece and wasn’t bad, it’s about who Rob is and what Rob does and what his goals are, don’t know why the tweeters are putting it down.

Half of Lakers fans think overreaction is being a true fan...
That Pelinka piece was fine. And even if it was pro-Lakers or a "puff piece", how that tweeter mistakenly called it, it was written for the Lakers website FFS. I mean c'mon...
