Yes on the cheap, he will miss half of next season and it will take him the other half to get back to about 80% of what he was prior to the injury. So yes I would take him but not at a max rate.

No, because he just shredded his Achilles.

No, because I want to pursue Durant first. Offer him $36M times 5 years. He'll decline $4M for team loyalty? Maybe. After two chips and two finals MVP with GSW? He can play off the ball, defends like a beast this season.

Won't need no stinking Boogie at that point.

AD or Klay or Leonard would follow soon thereafter.

No, he'll decline that because he can play for the heavy championship favorite for the next four or five years. There is zero change he leaves.

What's the price for him?

Hell no.

And I preferred him slightly over PG before the injury.

NOP will max him. We have no incentive to get into that pissing contest.

Even if his achilles was perfect I'd still want him no where near our team. He's smoke... all stats and no leadership. I don't brush off his past issues with coaches, refs and teammates as easily as others do. That stuff is still there.

If we sign LeBron and George, sign and trade for Randle/Lopez.

Not spending a cent of cap space on him until I at least see him run and jump again.

Randle and Lopez want to play in NO? They wouldn’t trade him, they want to keep him.

Ok. I still want us to make a serious pitch.

I would anytime you can acquire a great player you get him. we haven't been able to get great free agents. his skillset is great. he's not a athletic big so he can come back from the injury. his game is more post pick and pop. 1 yr. 2 yr. deal is fine with me. today guys can come back from this.

With his boy Isiah Thomas IT I think he' signs with us. those guys are boys and I'm pretty sure they are talking about texting about the situation on this team. with other players like Ingram Kuzma Randle Ball IT you have players who can play around him he doesn't have to do everything. also having Thomas Bryant allows him to come back when he is ready to Ball.

S&T are limited to the contracts we can offer the sign-and-tradees

In this case Randle and Brook would be limited to the exceptions we have.

In a S&T with a max free agent with Randle his max would be the 25% max, but as the raise is greater than a certain percentage, we start going down a weird poison pill contract provision that is tough to navigate (player's cap hit only counts as 50% of his new contract until he reaches his new team??)

This means we would have to sign Brook to a large enough contract to make up the shortfall in salary differences for it to be a legal trade (because NO are capped out), with a trade that forces NO to take back a heck of a lot more salary

And with the current salary restrictions for Brook (if we sign LeBron and George) are very limited, it's going to be a tough ask to get Cousins after renouncing everyone to get the space to sign LeBron and George in the first place. Not to mention Brook probably wouldn't agree to a S&T where he doesn't make any money

Tl;dr we can't do it

His career is over. Secondly, there is an element of speed required with our young crew. If he returns, he will not have the requisite speed needed to run with Zo, Bi etc...

Yes. 1 year max, let him come back and we can have a look and see. If he flops he flops and we let him go on his merry way.

Must be said though, is there a chance for Davis. He would be perfect for us, like he actually would be the franchise player we need to perfect everything (if we have him and Leonard, call it a day, we'd be set for a while).

It wasn’t like he ran down court on breaks when healthy, he typically stood and watched.
